Back In the Saddle Again

Idk why someone would remove this. Makes absolutely no sense to me it probably made the TC shifting worse. Much worse. That could explain why it would jump all the gears so easily.
Definitely would cause that.

Probably an error, didn't see it during disassembly and it disappeared before reassemble

I didn’t realize there was a detent there until looking at the diagram. There wasn’t one protruding the case. Which was odd.

I would have noticed it. As I pulled the spring and plug after the cases were completely apart. It wasn’t there. The only other detent is the one to hold the lock ring on the main shaft.

I have somewhere a couple of cases in pieces, I would have every little piece, problem is I can't remember where I put them.

All good I got it ordered. Just waiting now. I can get it together and installed and then put the detent in anyways.

Going to run down to the auto parts store pick up some ujoints and exhaust pipe.

Ok so all of a sudden it’s much cheaper to order exhaust on Amazon than at the auto parts store. Got some header back coming in. Going to dump behind the tires.

Yeah it’s a thing. Sometimes it’s the only place you can get all the parts, sometimes it’s because the shipping kills everything else

So does it still have the original engine?
In your overview you mention 350 SBC, this is the 305 according to your RPO code, which was very common in 85-86 along with the worst carp setup topped with a spiderweb of vacuum lines
It’s got a crate 350 and Th350 trans now

The Story I got from the PO is that this was his uncles truck and it was all stock. I got it home and found the 350/350 combo lol guy wasn’t a mechanic or worked on cars.
