BENDER stays in hibernation with me

I dont know how i missed it before, but that dash turned out sweet!
Thanks :waytogo:
I mulled it over for a while before pulling the trigger, then digested some ideas for a paint scheme/layout before installing it. I'm very pleased with it, except I still haven't fixed my AC :doah:

Do you have the type of timing cover gasket that's a seperate piece or does it go up under the oil pan a little? I hate those types of gaskets. Sometimes they'll leak if you let them slip a little when you put the new timing chain cover on.

ah sh1t, I mean the seal around the crank. Sorry dude. I have to drop the pan and I'm thinking of getting a two piece timing cover so I wont have to do it again for any cam swap.

Yeah I would recommend the two piece cover. I don't know if they're compatible with all engine blocks though. I think on the stock 305s, '84 was the split. I don't know anything for sure though.

Timing cover is timing cover, no matter what year small block. I put a Summit 2 piece on my '79, no leaks no worries. Also pop for the Fel-Pro 1 piece oil pan gasket. Fuggin awesome!

I need to address some issues with my engine, so I figured SCREW IT, I'll work on the front end too. :D The rear may end up with blocks temporarily until I can turn the truck around and work on the flip kit and gas tank at once.

Had a friend help me move some stuff around and turn some wrenches. Went hog wild all day. Started out drivable :D :woot: :D

Damn! :eek1: You aint ****in around anymore! What all are you doing to the frontend? Besides reinstalling everything.

Trying to get all this crap out of my garage. :)

Crossover
Ford towers
Bilstein 5125
Warn Premos
New axle joints
New TC 4" springs w/zero rate 1.5" forward

I'm on my second one piece pan gasket, the first came apart when I took it off. I think they're the cats meow also. :)

i actually fell in love with them when using the valve cover gasket of similar make, (blue rubber/synthetic) then used it on the oil pan with similar results. all i'll buy from here out.

Yah I got that blue one for my van when I got a new oil pan. I thought it had like a steel inserts where all the bolt holes are located so the gasket cant be tightened down to the point of squeezing the gasket out. I tightened that thing on once and its never leaked.

Where can you get the valve cover one like that??

well look around, there is some others on there for like $25-30, but they dont have the SS compression limiters, just the rubber over steel core.

there may be a better solution, thats just the one that i have used and it solved my problems, actually i'm gonna order another set soon to do the heads on this blazer.

Well if they work. Ill pony up. I dont wanna buy ones that are half priced and have them fail and then buy these in the end as well.

Not quite in place, but I just needed to get the axle back under the truck so it didn't look so bad sittin out there. My neighbors are probably tired of it but they seem to like me enough and understand it's my hobby. :waytogo:

Just need to cut the U bolts some so I can finish torquing them down, my deep sockets aren't deep enough. :eek1: :haha:Need to torque down all the leaf bolts and shackle bolts. I also need to get an angle finder so I can check pinion angle. Since putting the 4" TC springs on and moving the axle 1.5" forward, I'm sure the old shims are no good. What should it be near? 2-6*? :dunno:

Seems like five degree shims would be about right. Not sure though, but it seems like that's what I remember a few guys doing in their build-ups with similar layouts to yours.
