I like the ball joint press for u joints as well. Little heavy and large for a trail tool in my mind.
Plus I really like to put tool in vise, do more like a bench mount.
A regular 6 or 8" C clamp and a couple short sockets could be made to work on the trail.
Been thinking about a reciever vice a lot recently. Gonna work and refine that idea some

A hitch mounted vice with the right sockets works well, The special made vices are a bit pricey though. Seems it would not be all that hard to make one though.
If you want to get fancy. I've used their u-joint tools for semis and they work great. Never used the automotive size ones. https://tigertool.com/collections/all-tools/products/automotive-ujoint-service-kit I think just the c-clamp looking tool would be good by itself.
I'm sure the c-clamp looking tool is handy, but I've been super impressed with the removal tool. I've replaced a LOT of u-joints lately, and with that tool, it's a 5 min job.
So I am guessing I need to do some more modification on my skid plate / transfer case mount.

Some rust in the rockers but not bad at all.

Rear driveshaft now has through bolts to hold it onto the front flange.

Oh man this is going to be cool, I support this decision as I know how much you want it.
Honestly, I'm impressed with how clean that concrete pad is. Last time I was up there it was full of crap.
