Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Overheated the Astro on the way home, filled with antifreeze and two days later lost another gallon and a half. No idea where it is going, since there are no leaks. Then tried to fix the brakes on the Blazer, and Big-O stripped one lug nut part way, meaning I can't get the tire off to replace the wheel cylinder. Now I get to pull a c-clip to get the axle and everything off so I can do a brake job.

Well thought that i would do some updating on this. I have been doing some work on it manly little things. Got the Chevy 205 tail shaft put on so now I will have a working speedo. It is upside down so not sure how well the vent is going to work.

Put a new set of steering stabilizers on it.

next is the bumpers would like to get some built before thanksgiving but not looking that way.

Got the emissions done and registered it runs a lot cleaner now amazing what some tuning can do, the idle is a little high have to fix that, wants to diesel after I shut it off.

The Astro motor is starting to knock at start up so I might be driving this some once I do the motor swap on the Astro.

Why do you always wait until the last minute? If you need anything, let me know, I will be in town over the next week or two.

Cuz its funner this way

I have plenty of time

Front winch mount will be done tomorrow
Steering will be done end of the week maybe by Monday, gun show is Saturday and Scotts wedding so that day is busy
Bumper should be here in a week or so
T-case mouning stuff is already figured out in my head waiting for the brown box from DIY4x4. Figure I can do that 24-28th

Still have a two weeks to play with some other things, on board air and electric fans  so lots of time.

Self employment rocks sometimes :D

I probably shouldn't say much, Krusty is non-mobile right now because of a broken alternator pivot bolt. 4x4 hasn't worked in months, and I haven't gotten around to getting it fixed, and I have a bit over a month and a half before I have to have her ready for the deer hunt. Still need to sight my rifle in as well. I probably won't be ready.:doah:

Front wich mount is done, need to buy a new winch mine doesn't fit  oh well get to buy a Warn anybody have a XD9000 for sale

new shackels are in

stuff to build T-case mount is in

bill for the rear bumper is in, oww this is going to hurt abit

bumper should be on its way :D

picking up a winch on Saturday, need one for Pritchett

starting on the steering and radiator mods friday

So did the XJ shaft, ran into some issues the box shaft was to big to fit the XJ steering shaft, did some welding fixed the issue.

Got the box drilled for the hydro assist going to get it mocked and tacked up tonight welded and painted tomorrow.

Windstar fan is here going to have to do some trimming on it, the switches and relays shipped from Surplus Center should be here Monday.

Got the hose and fitting to make the A/C an air pump have to mount the tank and run some hoses might get it done before the bash not too worried about it, its a cool option not a need.

Waiting to hear about the bumper

other then that things are goin gas planned :D

Well Saturday the plan was for wiring the windstar fans, so much for the plan turned out to remove and rebuild then replace leaky power steering pump, that only really leaked after the motor was shut off. However on a happier note the hydro assist works well and my steering wheel may be a little straighter.

Got the winch in and mounted controller is in a temporary spot but works for now.

Need to pull my drivers side shock tower one day and grind some metal off of it and do some re welding the steering shaft still hits it, not bad but enough to be annoying.

Monday I'm wiring the fans and taking some pictures

Ok back from the Bash have some pictures of the work that I did

Future plans

Put in offset 56 in front springs not the 28/28 I have now

Chop the back off alot to give me a usable departure angle

Cut out rockers and put in sliders, see the BB09 pictures they are smashed anyway

Pull out interior, andybody need a full tan in really good shape interior :D

Put in tube doors, make my electric doors removeable or just get rid of them and go with a manual set

Well with 180' being as far as they can open and 90' being straight back they open at about 140-150', not sure if you can see it but if you open them hard it does dent the door. :D
