budget beater - . . . HOLMES 220 single line boom wrecker install starting ..

filter is bolted and hooked up .

started laying out brake lines and hoses and parts . swapped to left side rear brake hose bracket location . since i have the ORD braided line kit and the hose fitting has no index to lock into it made way more since to drop down the left rail for a shorter cleaner setup . funny thing was the frame rail had the 2 holes in it for the stock bracket to bolt on with after i removed the old rivets and bent the hose hole back the other way to kick the hose the right way .

ya thats payback for steeling my idea on the gas pedal mod and info written on the gas tank . . . @SpeedlabDan

to be totaly honest tho if i didnt have it . i dont know what level of wrenching i would even be doing with my neck the way it is . i have a plate and 4 screws in there with a fusion of c6-c7 joint . i have my limits the neck likes and dont . and also have my good and bad days .

I have a fused 6-7 cervical for 20 years and has not slowed me down. Do wish I had a lift.

of stealing from you, I want to change the front output shaft on the 205, is that something I can do with it in the truck?
Is it as easy as pulling the bearing retainer and pulling the shaft out and replacing or will there be a bunch of the open rollers that will fall off?

Your a better man than me if you're gonna change that in the truck. There are rollers (not as many as the output shaft that have to be loaded in the case) that bein said it could be done if the assembled the front output if you can sneak past the idler gear mid case. I'm not sure about that part.

I did write on top after seeing your tank lol in my defence where I wrote the color code and input/output on the side of the tank I couldn't see once they were in the truck so... :waytogo:

Just trying to figure the cheapest option to fix my mistake.
I built a new driveshaft for the front and made it for a flange instead of yoke and assumed that it is still stock 30 spline.
When I tried to replace the yoke I saw its a 32 spline and all the 32 spline flanges I have are too tall.
So either I shorten the shaft that I just built at $90, buy a new flange at $135 + tax and change the seal to the right size, or change the output shaft and put the 30 spline flange I have and it's only time, I already have all the parts.
I don't need the extra strength of 32 spline on this truck but I need it on the burb with 40" tires

i am not to slow . just cant do under dash work as easy and if on creeper i cant hold my head up like i use to .

otherwise i say i am 95% back to normal . 7+ years now.

not much in the way of pics . as its all small stuff or not major pic worthy .

engine harnness has been moded with the removal of the tbi stuff . wow hardly nothing there now .

fuel system is DONE and ready for pressure test . got my fuel pressure sender in on the adapter for the fuel line .

few pics of plans for air filter setup . going tbi salad bowl for more easy air path over stock .

serp belt system on and done with few new pulleys and belt . new water pump on also . hydro pump bracket for plow pump is on and ready to get the pump on it .

exhaust is about done for what it is . stock style y-pipe replacment from walker exhaust i have had for years . figure just use it . then single 3" in/out flowmaster 50 series delta flow 3 chamber muffler and dump out the driver side before tire .

finishing the exhaust system today . went to town and picked up my muffler at the parts store cheeper / faster than online . got a flowmaster 50 series delta flow 3 chamber with 3" in/out .

had a brand new walker exhaust replacment 4x4 y-pipe for these style trucks so figure why not hook it up . . . then i had the mid pipe from cat to muffler also .

i took and cut the long stright section off the mid pipe and used it as the mid pipe off the y-pipe outlet . then i slid the muffler on and clocked it for room all around it . then drilled 2 holes in cab crossmember and bolted a hanger on .

took the rest of the mid pipe and cut it up in to 3 chunks and played with them a bit and got them to twist / turn / drop out just behind the gas tank and under the frame but in front of the tire driver side .

once the box is on i will finalize the pipe outlet position and i might just leave it a 3" with slash cut . . . . or go BRO-DOZER with a BIG 4" tip . . .:whistle::whistle::grin:

after dinner i will remove the y-pipe and strech the pass side pipe about 1" and have it give me the room i need for drive shaft droop out . right now shaft unhooked from the dana 60 its about 1/8" from kissing it . so i figure 1" gap should do it just fine .

also early in the day i finalized my wiring for power / sender to both tanks and loomed it up and hung it in the frame clips . i just need to clamp it down to the cab crossmember yet when i clamp the vent and fuel crossover line together .

@obijuank5 if i had more mental ambition it would have been done already . . . .

but it does help time wise i am not employed at this time . so i work on it when ever . . .

but yes she is super close to fire off test and final button up .

thinking wednesday i will get 5-10 gal fuel and fill the tank up a bit and pressure test the lines for leaks .

well its not a pro job / nor look super nice . . . but it got me just around 1.5" more under the front driveshaft at full drop NOT hooked up to the front axle . with it hooked up it was just clearing .

she should flow decent and still function .

1 stretch by 1.5" up top / 2 angle change pie cuts that had to be closed up .

oh ya and it dosnt hit the shackle like headers do :rotfl::haha::rotfl::haha:

did i ever say how much i HATE :angry1: exhaust work . . . .

i should have set the fuel system as pass side tank and lines up the right frame . . . :doah:

it do able but had to make a heat shield for the fuel filter area after the y-pipe 3" collector moved over a bit from reworking the pass side for drive shaft room .

then swapping the rear brake line to the left side was nice but the exhaust cant do a single shot out the back if i wanted with out a few bends .

all in all its o.k. but i created my self some rework time was all . . . .. :doah::doah::doah::1zhelp:

i did tho get a good used starter on the engine and tested it before and after install . all sounded good with no binding of the ring gear howl .
