Yeah I can look at the water pump. I am just wondering how to test that.

It sucks I did the pump last April :(

I mean I've done the rest of my cooling system why not a pump ;)

Maybe I'm missing something, but with all that you have done, if the timing and air/fuel is good, I would do water pump.
It seems that you have covered everything else.
I just think that the pump isn't moving coolant enough, and the heat continues to build.

Yes sir this was a problem a couple weeks before fitech. My friend who built the engine looked at my timing last week and said for my setup it was exactly perfect and not to mess with it.

I'm with you I will throw a light on it. What numbers do you like for a big block with a cam like mine.

I can seriously say it started having issues once I installed the condenser. The thing is a stock c30 with a 454 had working ac so it should work.

Maybe it just magnified a bigger problem?

I found my heat gun! What should I do to test it?
Also, I found my receipt for my water pump lol

The timing mark is accurate for sure. I checked that once when I had the heads off.

Have you verified that it's advancing properly? What's your total timing? It's possible it's not advancing correctly or too late?

Any info on the distributor, stock off the shelf, upgrades springs or anything?

When it comes to timing you are talking to the wrong dude. I will see how to look at it. I want to say it's at 32 total or something like that. I have a feeling someone is about to tell me to use FITech for timing.. lol if I had a clue what I was doing trust me I'd let fitech run it.

I let a hotrod shop set up my timing because I couldn't get the curve right

Its a stupid big block. Just like mine. Timing is good. Plugs look just like those. I verified timing on mine. Big ass junk paper weight. Lol. Stupid things just run hot. I dont know what to say. Ive ran small blocks for 25 yrs and never had cooling issues. Impo big blocks suck.

Do you have a timing light?

I was driving mine today in 108 degree weather today, never went over 194.

Check the temperature of the inlet and outlet of the radiator. Also try to see how the temperature drops across the core. I wonder if there may be a quick drop in temps from the inlet, or an even drop. Maybe a quick drop past the inlet means low flow???
I have experience with timing has always been to see how much it can handle. I listen for detonation under all conditions.
Like @skunked said, check for advance with RPM, and when it does it.
My truck has around 44* total, with a roller cam.

Ok at 800rpm I'm at 23 degrees, at 2000 I'm at 40 degrees at 2**** rpm I was asked politely by my neighbor to "shut the effing thing off because I woke up his 2 week old baby". (Basically straight piped) lol i did use my heat gun, the block and radiator were sitting pretty close to the same temp. Fitech fan kicked on at 174 on the button like i set it for. Didnt have a chance to get it hot hot because of neighbor.
