Happy to say the radiator worked! Highest temps I saw was 195 in traffic ac blowing...

On to my new issue.... trans seems to run hot now.... not sure if that giant trans cooler with the fan mounted under the truck is the ticket. It is running around 200-210 it would go down to like 195 then at lights it would creep up to 210. Never saw it go above that. It does have a pretty good trans leak I cant really figure out. And when I checked the fluid it looks over full and it's full of bubbles... ideas?

How are the transmission cooler(s) plumbed? Where are you getting the temp reading?

Temp reading coming off the hot side of the trans pre cooler. I will move it to the pan soon.

I’m still not clear how you’re plumbed. Are you running the radiator cooler and the secondary cooler? If so, in which order are they plumbed?

The fan on the secondary cooler is set up a puller right?

Yes it's a puller. I run from the trans hot side to the temp sensor then to the radiator then to that massive cooler then back to the transmission.

Trans >sensor> radiator >aftermarket cooler> trans

210 is fine for your transmission, especially since the sensor is before the cooler.

So after being used before being cooled it is 210. Which is fine.

Trans >sensor> radiator >aftermarket cooler> trans

That’s the same way mine is configured after a couple changes. I have a pan sensor and run 180sh in the rocks or light trail riding. In the hills at highway speed I’m easily 210.

I think you’re fine.....

Well then sweet! Looks like my temp issues are all good now. I cant beleive I got a 30 degree drop going from a 4 core brass to the exact same size 4 core aluminum radiator... my mind is blown...
Now I wonder if that brass radiator has other issues... it seems to do ok for plan b but it's not as amazing as I expected. Wish I would have done the radiator first, but now I know.

On to my next issue... why the heck is my transmission leaking?? Hmmmmm... this will take some investigation... since there's fluid everywhere it's hard to really pinpoint whats happening.

Yeah I was thinking you'd be real happy if you move the sensor to the pan because that fluid will be a lower temperature than the hot line going out to the cooler. Your transmission would have been miraculously running cooler. Haha

If you trans fluid is over full and foaming, that would contribute to higher temperatures. It could also be contributing to your leak.

One common place for leaks is the grommet/seal when the dipstick tube comes in. I also had a dipstick tube with a pin hole in it so you'd get a "leak" everytime you added fluid.

Held a little pre blazer bash ck5 bbq at my place over the weekend. It was nice to see some blazers and a couple fords...

It was nice to pull nightmare out of hiding and give it its first bath of the year.

Also fun to put it next to pb to really see the differences.

Decided to use my day off to pull this rig out, washed and waxed it, checked all fluid levels, checked air pressure and filled it up with fresh fuel and added stable just so I can put it back in storage for the winter lol. I also finally ran my trans temp guage wires to the sensor in the pan. I drove it around for about 45 mins and it only saw engine and trans temps of about 158 degrees. I'd say that radiator was really the trick.

A company asked if they could use this truck for a photo shoot, I said sure and started cleaning it up.... MAN I HAVE NEGLECTED THIS THING.... I guess my focus has 100% been on plan b. This truck is dirty and has a haze over the hood and windshield from dust and I guess painting other things in the shop. It needs a good clay bar. I did use this opportunity to get the truck a new grille and touch up some painting stuff and finally color match my steering stabilizer to match the body and shocks. I'm slowly bringing it back to its former self.
