Only thing is I had the shaking with another set of wheels and tires. I think that may have been the driveline and bushings and the current shake is their mess up. But real talk... who in the hell swaps tires and leaves the weights and doesn't balance them?

I'm going to grab my truck from my friends shop tomorrow and go straight to les schwab and watch them balance the wheels. I unloaded on the manager and he gets it and said he will ensure it is done and done correctly.

Will this fix my problem ? Probably not... but I'll feel better and will have one less thing on the list.

I'm still blown away that the tech left a not saying "mount only - do not remove old weights" and then the gal at the counter charged for mount and balance.

These guys are professionals.... They have to know that much weight would make these tires shake like crazy. Did I mention they had them filled to 45 psi?

That sucks about the boneheaded move on balancing. I don't know any tire store that would mount new treads without removing all the old weights. 4oz is a lot of weight even for those tires to have added extra to the rim so it would be interesting to see what they actually balance out to.

Yeah, my swampers took a ton of weight to get them decent but they were wearing funny

I balanced some thornbirds once for a buddy, had to put almost a pound on one. Ran smooth though.
We have to use those guys for all our work stuff and they suck. They will put 17s on a new half ton which are usually 10 ply and air them all the way up to 65 or 80 psi.

They also pounded weights onto the front of one of my cars wheels the day after they didn't balance my truck tires. That pissed me off because those wheels are powder coated high gloss black now that one has a nice chunck takin out of the face.. again who the **** puts weight on the front of an obviously painted wheel when the other 3 wheels have tape weights?? I'll never use this location again. F these guys

I need to relax until after I get the tires balanced and see if it's actually my problem vs something else. Hopefully I'll do this today

Yeah most all tire shops suck just because they don't pay well enough to get and keep good employees. But I have that issue with all shops being a mechanic myself.

I like America's Tire better than Les Schwab. When I go to America's Tire I feel like they have some pride in their work so I've trusted them with high end Ferrari, Porsche, drag slicks and other custom rims over the years.

Take it to the Firestone on 96th and Redwood talk to Chet tell him I sent you. See if he can fix it for you.
I'm at les Schwab now and they are doing it. My hate mail to Corp raised an eyebrow. They got a call from higher up I think. I got out of my truck and it was "Joey, let me get you right in"

Still has a shake but it's way better. The shake is now within the it's an old lifted truck on murders feeling/zone.

Something isn't right but I'll drive it until it finally breaks.

Possibly unrelated i think my t-case is making some noise....

On the plus side the death wobble feeling is gone with the new bushings :)

I work with guys who don't take weights off, just spin it and if needs weight they just add it like a dumbass!! I always take all wheel weights off and clean the sticky weight tape off cause that can throw a wheel off. I either do the job right or I won't do it!!!!!

Work with this one guy that saw a new rim that had weight that they swapped at port for the black xsp wheels on tacomas and he thought factory Toyota rims came balanced!

Omg that's bad.
I'm the same way, do it once, do it right
