so you guys asked if i have tried to double up flange gaskets, can you double up the soft aluminum gaskets?

I don't know if they're aluminum or not but they're the soft metal style

Some guys smash an extra flange between the two gaskets too.

Stupid FITech melted a plug wire grounding a plug.... Probably the source of my dead cylinder feeling....

Yeah just a tiny bit. I actually had two wires that looked like that but only one dark plug. The others looked good to me

On their fb forum people blame fitech for everything including needing new tires, needing to do oil changes, broken windows, burnt out headlights. Prettymuch the worst thing in the world... I love how it feels when I punch the gas tho... Money well spent.

I'm debating setting up this rig to tow a little better and getting a single car hauler to tow down plan B around.

I am wondering if I should focus on gearing a bit? I have 456 gears and 37" tires that actually measure 37" and a 700r4 trans.

I'm wondering if going to 513s or at least 488 would help it tow a little better and raise the RPM on the freeway. Right now at 70mph I'm below my lock on my torque converter and below the power band on the cam.

I also suspect that keeping the rpms up a bit may help my mechanical fan pull more air keeping the beast cool.... What do you guys think?

I know this isn't the ideal vehicle to pull a car hauler behind but I really can't justify getting a 3rd truck lol :D

I also think if I have working tow packages on both rigs if I break either one I could tow the other home....

Gear it to 5.13.

Weight distribution hitch.

Blazers were rated to tow 6k lbs. You'll be really close to that.

Though your stuck using as light of a car hauler as you can.

Might need a sway control too but I doubt it.

I'd also run brakes on both trailer axles. Lots of 7k lb trailers only have em on one axle

I don’t think I would tow 7k+ lbs behind a k5. Not at a freeway speeds anyway.

Other options I have considered are a car dolly or flat towing PB but that doesn't address brakes.... unless there's a way to make that happen that I'm not aware of.
