I think you should weigh your truck to see what you're working with. K5's can push 6K+ pounds pretty quick.

I think it can be done, I don't think it's ideal though. Back when I was a kid I used a dolly to get my race car to the track

I used to do concrete for a guy that had a 6.5 dually just like that. It pulled 13k around all the time no problem.
