Building the Ultimate GM vehicle

Have to admit that the reinforced doors are holding up pretty decent, and really don't look too bad either. Pictures don't do the body damage any justice on this truck......any other part of the body on this truck has been extremely mangled, pounded out, and remangled several times, so the fact the doors are still pretty staight is a great testament.
It's pretty neat idea. I think it looks kinda neat.

Every body panel but the tailgate on my truck is dented and smashed, including the doors. What sucks about the doors is that when they get smashed they have a tendancy not to open/close properly anymore.

Back on topic:
I heard a bad rumor that Willard isn't going to make it to Ultimate Adventure, not enough time to finish, so I hear it.

So who do you know??

Yes that rumor is true.

Wally got the call last Monday morning.

I was swamped at work but I think the deal was a few customers needed their stuff and a couple things for the UA other trucks, one fabricator leaving for a long ago scheduled vacation, and the rest of the guys being way over worked already made it look to hard to finish the truck like it should be finished.
Willard is kicking it outside the shop this week and will be back in next week I am sure.

Somebody with a certain tan K5. The pic I saw of Willard looks cool anyways.

So you gonna come down and "teach" me?

I would build a LWB regular cab with a NV4500 (built manual shift 350 or 700 w/ huge cooler if auto) and 3:1 205 (NP241 w/ SYE if budget). Engine would be a Q-jet or TBI roller cam 383 with a bunch of aluminum parts (iron 350 if budget) or a built Cummins 4BT if diesel. 14FF rear w/ det. and shaved. 60 front with det. and 5.13's. As many axle upgrades as the budget allows. 4-6" spring lift with Hi-steer and hydro assist with a huge cooler. Chop the frame behind the rear hangers and flatbed it (aluminum if the budget allows). Narrow the cab and use fiberglass everywhere I could. Ideally, I'd fit a narrowed crew cab on the thing. Tube doors. Put the batteries and maybe the radiator in back to spread the weight out. York OBA. 40 gal sub tank. Remove as much weight as possible. The usual armor. The biggest beadlocked tires that I could afford. Keep it as simple and light as possible.
