Finished up the stack and toolbox today. Need to paint them, but they're done.

The toolbox is an older midsize one. Heavy duty though, made out of 1/8" steel. I just cut one end off and used parts of what I cut off to close it back up. Braking 1/8" is a bitch by hand.

Got everything on the rack finished up today.

Lucked out on the placement of the stack, didn't have to cut the hat channels under the bed. Waiting on the elbow and clamps to show up, then a quick run to Napa for the flex and the stack will be functional.

Got everything painted and mounted. Sprayed the toolbox with some Duplicolor bedliner and the stack with some high heat Bar-B-Q black.

So I've been wrapping up a lot of little things getting ready for the move to Texas. Replaced the wiper delay module so the wipers stay parked, replaced the washer pump because the one that came in the reservoir from the junkyard was noisy as hell. Picked both parts up from the yard for a few bucks.

Finished up the upper bracket for the stack. I had made a mount on the rack when I built it, but just had the stack bolted to the floor. Well it shook quite a bit so I made the stack side of the mount. It's on the lower cross bar under the headache rack. 3/16" plate and three 1/4" bolts. That sucker ain't going anywhere now. :deal:

Something else that I've been wanting to do for a while now is set up a hand throttle, aka. redneck cruise control. It works good but the cable ends stretched about a 1/4" after a couple test runs. I need to figure out a better way to do the cable ends, but it will work in the meantime though.

The first run I would only get half throttle, so I added a 2:1 pendulum to get full throttle range with the bicycle shifter lever on the tranny shifter.

So not much happening on the truck the last few months since the move. It sits during the week as I'm in a company truck now. I still get it out on the weekends and run it around so that it gets driven.

It ran flawlessly from Denver to Houston and back to Dallas. Well almost. Once I got back to Dallas it started having some fueling issues. Figured out to be the selector valve again. Currently waiting on some marine 3-way valves to come in so I can re-plumb the fuel system once again. :mad1:

I got a lot of people commenting (surprised) that I drove it all the way from Colorado with mpg and all thinking it got about 6mpg. I actually averaged 16mpg running 75-80 the whole way. I had more people stop me in the first week here asking about the truck than I have the last year in Colorado. :waytogo:

The front springs are in dire need of replacement at this point though. I don't know if the trip finished them off or what, but the driver side is getting pretty bad and sitting a good 1/2-3-4" lower than the passenger side. They were shot already but it looks like they'll be coming sooner than later. Still trying to figure out which ones to run, but I'm going 6" this time around. Then I have to figure out what to do with the rear. I really don't want to do a shackle flip and am not real keen on blocks that tall so I might just get a full spring kit.

I've re-plumbed the fuel lines once again. I ended up running the motor straight off the passenger tank. I've got an inline electric pump that I'm going to use as a transfer pump from the driver to the passenger side. Got all the parts, but haven't taken the half hour to do it yet.

Put new Superlift 01-235 5.5" springs on the front today. Lifted it a little bit, 1.5" maybe. Shocks and the front will be done. I've got DIY's Flip and Switch kit sitting here, again just taking the time to do it. I think once the flip is on I'll need to replace the 4" blocks with 2" to pick the ass end up a little from where it is and maybe some shims depending on what the pinion angle does. I wasn't sure how much it was going to pick it up, but I'm happy with it. I wanted it a little taller, but it's not too tall. It's still leaning a little to the driver side though.

I love everything about this truck. What sort of overall mileage are you getting with the cummins now?
