You can do a long bed one, you just have to leave the tailgate down.I only have a short bedIf i'm buying a camper its going to have ac, heat etc.
We can talk about campers.
I don't necessarily want some big gigantic can over ordeal. I don't want to store it, load it, or drive with it.
I'd like something light weight and minimalist.
I would entertainin the idea of building one. In my mind right now the ideal would be exactly the size of the bed and cab height, and then pop up to 6.5-7 feet high.
Realistically, I will be using tents or the roof top for awhile yet.

I have the 1980s version of that minimalist camper, minus the slide rails, sitting idle. If you were local I'd probably just give it to you and watch the progress.
I understand not wanting to lose the bed space the way that slide-ins usually do.

I love the idea of a slide in, but the cost of those things are absurd.
You have a pop up bed camper? You could totally build a trailer to pull that around on. That would be a cool setup.

Ah, I think I know what you are talking about now. Cool.

Not always. Buy one now (at the end of the camping season), and buy from a place where people like to camp. Here is a 2004 6.5' slide-in with appliances for $850. And that's just the first thing that came up on my local CL server, it's not alone. 'Tis the season for camper dumping.

That's almost to good of a deal. Makes me wonder what works. My max would be about 4K, but would entertain up to 10 if it had slide outs and newer beds
The only new campers I've seen are 25k plus.
