I'm following too! I have to give you alot of credit for always jumping in with both feet when you start on something new. I tend to be a little more cautious and that holds me up, although I'm getting better. Keep up the build. Everything you've done so far is looking great!!

Yup I know how you feel man! My dads the kind of guy to over think everything he does on anything. And my boss (my dads best friend) is the just do it kinda guy lol. So my boss pays the bills so I guess I have adapted to that style of work. Little more gets messed up along the way but man does work get done

Still tuned in, just missing the days of being a broke college student and being able to afford projects... Haha!!! It doesn't get any better.

Well started the semester today. Pretty sweet schedule. Welding, basic machining, also CBC g code programming machining class, and inventor which will be my 5th cad class I think lol. I'm really liking my classes, I get to work a few hours every morning then I get to go weld, play on inventor, then play with cnc machines. Doesn't get much better lol.
Motors runnin great, it's even starting way quicker now, hardly have to pump in the mornin and she takes right off.
Headin up to silver lake all weekend to play in the sand and see how she climbs. After that I'm gonna try to find a car and park the blazer for a while and start tearing apart the interior and do all my new carpet, fix any holes I may find, herculine everything from floor to under carriage, and really
try to get it lookin nice inside and out.

Don't Herculine it. Do a real spray on rubberized bedliner that encapsulates the metal.
Like what? Herc can be sprayed I thought? What would you suggest as something I could spray myself?
Herc is okay...but it's basically just Rustoleum with sandy **** in it. I used it and others have and then later found out it does not encapsulate the metal.
For a similar price you can get Al's Liner, Extreme Liner, and Raptor Liner. I'm looking hard at Raptor and Extreme right now for my projects this winter/spring.

Ok I'll look into those. I put herc under my trim line and it held up great over winter.
Give it a while. On my Tracker it started sorta disappearing, the paint first. After the first winter I had to respray it every year with spray paint to not let the green underneath be noticeable.
I really don't think that herculiner can be sprayed with the size of the rubber chunks in it. And anyone having problems with Herc is probably because they didn't put it on thick enough. It takes a minimum of 2 coats to cover, 3 for extra protection. Also it requires a lot of prep to make it stick. Herc. Isn't the best liner on the market but it holds up well if it isn't half assed.
I prepped for a day and put 3 or more coats on, including the UV liner coat that most people don't do because it's a separate product.
I had several friends use Herc and get crappy, peeling results. When I did mine I made SURE to follow Herc's instructions to the letter with the same prep products and steps they recommended.
3 coats and almost $200 invested in the setup and it was coming off in a year. Nah...it's okay stuff but it isn't an encapsulator, doesn't have rubber in it, is rough as hell, and even 3 coats is maybe 1/8" thick where as your typical spray on with rubber is 1/4".

Me and ma lady went to the beach the other day. She snuck some pics on me. I thought this one was funny, idk if anybodys really seen my headliner except for those that were at daves build and greet.

Adam, you've got a lot done man...keep pickin' at it as time and money permits...maybe make yourself a list of wants and needs to decide when and where best to spend your money.
The exhaust is still pretty low IMO, but your not on rocks or logs either, sand you should be ok, it'll just be an anchor for ya, but it shouldn't get knocked off.
The shift kit I don't think will do you much good. If your trans is soft shifting, you could make small adjustments to the TV cable to firm them a little, but if its getting worn out, a shift kit won't make it better. But you could always try it for the experience and have the kit for when you rebuild.

Yeah unfortunately I know it's getting old. Really just want it to make it through the dunes and I'll be happy with it. I'm not gonna beat on it too bad, don't even know how good it will even do in the sand with those tires, their not really made for it at all and pretty narrow. Prolly have most of my fun Friday and just cruise around once it gets busy.
