Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

My swampers don't even bulge till about 8. Trail pressure is usually 10ish, sand I run 10 in the front 6-8 in the rear.

Who me? Heck yea.. The generals flex a ton.. I don't need super low pressures to get the tire to move. I think the generals either one red label or at2 are similar in that respect. Plus the tires are really light..

Have you tried lower?

Let's move this to my thread. @Deuling sorry dude!

Are we not allowed to clog up Deuling's thread anymore?

I never got that memo.

These are my street tires. They also flex a lot at higher a higher psi. They flex more at 15psi than my swampers did at 10.

I run 12 in the dunes.

They do so good I quit running 4x4 when the temps are cool enough to run in 2wd all day and not get everything super hot.

Whats funny is that the sidewalls have more ply and are way thicker than the Interco Trxus tires I had. I bet they are 3/8" thicker.

So tomorrow is going to be a bit of an emotional day. Shannons uncle was diagnosed with cancer last year, and then it went away. Last week he found out it came back hard, and he has maybe a year.

Shannons cousin asked if I would take his dad to the dunes in the blazer tomorrow. So I spent all day prepping it, for hopefully no breakage.

Greased the front end, the driveshafts, ripped the lockouts off and shot some extra grease in the bearings and re-torqued the spindle nuts.

Topped off fluids and gave it a cleaning inside and out.

Also dropped the bump stop psi from 200 to 150 in an attempt to get rid of my pogo stick suspension upon hard landings. Idk if it will help, but its worth a try.

And as you can see, the rear zip ties are still holding the leaf pack together :flipoff7:

Glad you guys had a good day, and congratulations to you two!

Right on that's fantastic. Super jelous, our sand is hot enough to cook eggs right now.

I put a hood on it.... And the topper.

I smashed my car up, so now blazer is on DD status for the near future.

I hate it. Its loud and stinky with the top on.

I cannot keep my wheels balanced. Not sure if I am spinning the wheels in the tire at the dunes, or if I am just bending the wheels up. Every time I go to have them balanced, they are way out. Fix it, then good for a dune trip or two and back to unbalanced.

Looks good to me, but I could see DD'ing it being an issue. I had to DD my K5 a few years back due to my other vehicle chucking a trans. It's not fun.
