Is that because you want more metal between the dunes and your head or because you prefer it aesthetically?

Yah um with that A pillar, the metal between head is really not helping :haha:

Nah i like the looks. Unless I had a 73-75.

I actually already have a new cooler cage design that lets my love for the half cab with no top flourish. It just would look like theres no cage, and it would be a no rear passenger protection "cage".

So somebody wanna buy a rear cage?

My A-pillars on my original cab were worse than that. Needless to say the body shop did basically what you are talking about. A year later the rust started coming back through leading me to say f-it and get a rust free cab. Do it the right way and make a patch piece. It might take longer but it'll last much longer too.

Like i said. Band aid for now, will slow it down more than what it was.

But i am going to the dunes for memorial weekend. AKA the 22nd of this month.

So good body work is out of the question :haha:

When you get back, fix it right. A pillars are easy IMO. Not like real body work where you have to worry about warpage and waves...

have you done a drawing of the front yet? anxious to see it.

Yah I will fix it right at some point. Josh is sending me some of his pillar pieces from his conversion.

I could always use spares for when I mess up a cut though lol.

Dave, I don't have a drawing. But I do have the a pillars made. Idk if you saw the picture of them mocked up before pulling the cage. But picture upper side to side cross bar and above dash cross bar, with a \/ between those bars and a \/ of some sort on the top, head room permitting. I will make the \/ bars out of smaller tubing for headroom and visibility through the windshield.

For the time into this one. I couldn't sell it for less than a small fortune.

But I kept all the measurments and lengths etc for the pillars. Already got a buddy that wants hoops and straight bars in the rear, and another guy that already has a rear hoop sitting in the garage waiting for him to pick up.

So let me know if you want some bars bent up. I can do it in about 1/10th of the time I did the first, because I don't have to go measure.

What bracing Greg?

AA mfg is the $HIT. Only place I will ever use for tabs, chassis parts.

I drove over there Friday after work and showed up just as he was getting in his truck with his wife to go home. (ive stopped there many times in the last months).

He hopped out, I asked if he was leaving and he said yah but what do you need? Said I wanted some of these gussets, he unlocked the door, grabbed me a handful of them, I got my card out to pay, and he goes, nah just hit me up next time your in. :thumb:  You don't see that kinda stuff happen nowadays.

Best prices out there for chassis parts even online, local to me, and great people. I would recommend them to everyone.

Best paint ever. Dad even showed up and helped once again, so that was awesome. The whole time he kept saying "this paint is cool as $hit!" lol.

Didnt get to a pillar ghetto fix. I didnt realize how long it would take to brush the cage lol.
