Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

I'll have my people send you all the necessary forms.

Let me first start with we've been doing this longer than Ultra 4 has been around. It's a long time desert racing thing. Include duct tape pulled off the roll and wrapped around a tube within easy reach of the passenger seat and you have a nearly complete tool kit. So send me my money bitch.

If your Ultra4 car needs zip ties on the course, you should have spent more prep time on the car.

This one time in an Ultra 4 race we had an issue with a shifter, we zip tied the 203 into low range without ever stopping:haha:. So, yes we should have had more prep time cause that bolt needed locktite as it turns out but you never know when you need them within easy reach. And because I know you, :flipoff11:

FYI I rediscovered we have flipoff smiles.:haha:

Where should I send it? Also do you accept credit cards? Haha

Here I was going to get your address from someone else and send you one.

Martin

I would love some extra front ones if you have some.... I have 2 extra rear ones already, but nobody seems to ever have front ones.

I am on the hunt for some of these, too. Ever since Martin talked me into keeping my CUCV rims I have been wanting caps for them... :dunno:

Funny you should say that! :D

I went out today, got the hood on, flag on, tools and camping gear all packed.

And then I blew a head gasket. So I'm pretty much over it right now. It's time for a beer.

So...truck is back down?

Where is the droopy-eared sad smiley? :(

eeexsh.. that brings the big suck..

how'd that happen? what's it doing?

#7 is guzzling down water like its nobodies business. I have no idea, it was running awesome last night. Still runs awesome, no water in the oil, but its like injecting the cylinder with coolant. I filled the rad up and it sucked down 2 inches in a matter of 5 mins of idling.

All i did was start it up, let it warm up for 10 min or so as i packed up some more stuff, and then hopped in it and ran 5 miles or so down the road to nates place to pick up a part he made me at work last night. And we were chatting for a min in the house, and walked outside and he goes whats all that smoke???? :dunno:

And then i looked it over, checked temp, oil, looked fine, still just idling no problem. Hop in and drive back to shop, "smoke" disappears while driving.

Got to the shop and idling "smoking" like crazy. Then we checked radiator and saw it was way low. Then realized "smoke" is Steam....

And now im packing up the sonic because im just over it at this point. I need a break and a weekend to relax.

Dammit that blows! That feeling sucks.... especially after working on it for so long...[emoji53]

Have fun/get drunk this weekend and you can come back to it fresh!

well, I'll say it.. go hit vatozone or some place and get a coolant system pressure tester, trow it on the rad and see if it leaks down..

sorry mang, I know how much you've been pounding lately...

Yah, im just over it at this point. I backed it in the shop under the a frame. And took all my camping gear out of it and closed up shop.

I can use a break, ive been working on this thing for 2 months non stop for the most part.

Im sure brett will let me play with the bouncer, that will help my skinny pedal sadness.

nah, I get you've pounded it. and are beat down.. but try to just slow your roll, and verify what's going on... if it's f#cked, so be it... but do what you can up till that point... a quick pressure test will somewhat verify it for you.. unfortunately...

it sucks.. no doubt... but you'll persevere for later in the season!
