Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

I want to make some cool dimpled pedals. But im waiting for some parts to be machined so I can use my micro dimple dies :D

Time for a foot print go fast peddle lol
I've looked all over for these! Anyone know where to find them?!?!?
Usually when I push on the gas that hard my teef start to hurt and my leg cramps up! Then I forget to breathe and everything goes back to normal.

Shock tuning.

That's what I want.

I watched a TTB bronco with 2.5" smoothies in the rear, and 2.5" coilovers in the front, out perform $50k sand rails on Saturday all due to some wicked shock tuning.

It got better and a bigger crowd as the morning progressed.

The first lap was a lot of hectic fun. Guys on all sides and all directions going fast.

Shocks and bumps checked and full to 230 psi. Oil changed, and all other fluids checked/ topped off. Front end greased. Lifted the rear end up with a jack to see if the zip ties are still holding the springs together.... Yup, a year later, still good to go :flipoff7:

I added a little bit of extra electrical tape just in case ;)

Ready for the weekend of camping and dunes.

Zip ties get brittle though, so the next time your have build time. You better count on tearing into those, and put new ones on. Should take all of about .....................

half a beer?:thumb:

Have fun this weekend and gets lots of pics and videos.

I ripped the glasspacks off the other night and put some chambered mufflers on to get it legal for the dunes. Then found the front pinion bearing to be totally shot, along with both rear U joints about to let go.

The thing just needs a lot of maintenance and Ive had no time.

She is done with her gymnastics job as of yesterday. So now she will actually have nights during the week to work on it with me. I told her I was done working on it by myself. If she wants it running, she is helping from now on.

Good, get that thread going again, it is more interesting than this one (now).

Martin

Yeah I think it will be better.

Im going to rip down one side of the axle, and make her watch and do the other. And shes watched me do gears enough times now, that she should have some sort of grasp of whats going on by now.

She was bummed when I said we aren't taking it, but it was her choice to spend her weekends at crossfit things, so what do you do lol.

If the rear end was locked, I would just toss u joints in the driveshaft and have her play in 2wd. But those tires don't squat at all, and 2wd will not get her anywhere but sunk.
