I almost went with that cam, it looks good! I bet it'll run great in your 408.
Maybe it will idle less like a tractor with the difference in duration...
So I need recommendations (links because I'm lazy) on.
-Crank and rod bearings.
-Oil pump.
-Seals
I have no input on those things but I do have a question on your shock valving.
You keep saying you need to add rebound valving and lot's of it. This is counter to everything that we did with the race car. We ended up with very little rebound valving, are you sure about this? Do you really need to address the compression valving to keep from collapsing the shocks so much and keep the rebound valving light so that the wheels are falling out really fast and staying on the ground?
We actually had the car tuned at one point in really rough whoops with so little rebound that the ride height raised up as we went over the whoops, this basically is a way to add ride height and compression shock travel for big hits without actually raising the vehicle all the time.
Just something to think about.
So put a new pickup on it get a new pan slap it together and call it good
Save money for a total redo

So...why did you still have oil pressure if the pickup was no longer attached?![]()
That's pretty good news. So no pulling the engine right?
That I crazy, what holds the pickup on?

I like cast aluminum pans but don't run them on offroad rides because I'm worried they would crack.
Did you install the pickup originally? Just curious why it failed so I can learn from your mistakes.![]()
