Deuling's 1985 K5. "Restart thread on post #8415"

10 bolt for the win! I am a proud member of the 14BSF/10 Bolt club along with @Deuling @Richcz28 and @Chevy305
Dana 44 has 10 front cover bolts, so I'll throw my hat in that ring with the 14BSF
:haha:
I've got the same combo in my Suburban too. I'm never going to be doing any hard core stuff so it is just fine for my needs.
10 bolt/14 FF also.
44/14FF here. More than enough for my needs.

Man, for a moment you guys made me forget which thread I was reading. Then I remembered, and the derailment seemed right at home. :wink1:

So since pb totally effed this all up... I guess Ill start over here.

This is my blazer. I built it over the last 7 years. The last 3 of whichever have basically been beating the snot out of it and breaking almost nothing except a used front locker and an oil pump pickup. Proper routine maintenance is a good thing.

Last weekend a bunch of weird internet people came over and we played in the sand.

Mines the one on the right....

I'll just follow along from here.

Sooo, Blazer works perfect as is.

It has literally never let me down.

So the right move should be that I should rip out the entire suspension, trans, tcase, and beam the front and link the rear right? Riding in Papa Smurf has given me dirty thoughts of removing everything from mine, putting it on yellow truck, and making mine go fasterer.

Is this really a question? I think you already know what we all want here ;)

Sooo...

If I do this, I will be removing: Front ORD springs, ORD crossover with a Reid Racing pass side knuckle, 4 Fox 12" travel 2.5" Internal Bypass shocks, Built front 4.56 10b with 30 spline chromos and a very new spartan locker as of this spring, 700r4 with a stage 2 kit, hughes 2500 stall converter, np208, 1350 rear double cardan driveshaft, rebuilt front shaft but with an 8" travel slip yoke and ground stops and all new spicer joints, rear ford 57s with a DIY4x shackle flip...

Literally you could bolt all of this into your rig, minus needing to add bump stops and upper shock mounts (which I can sell you) and go pull 12" front and 11.5" rear static suspension travel that will take tons of abuse...

Whats it worth for a bolt in go fast setup?
