Ok, so the gas tank at the fuel level sender if far from flat. Maybe an 1/8th og an inch difference. Is that normal or do I need to order up a new tank??

Any guidance on what kind of liquid gasket to use along with a new O-ring???
 
With my old tank and sender and new tank, sender and o ring I didn't need any liquid gasket for a complete seal around sender. I'm thinking it should be flat, as I dont remember it not being flat.

That said, if you do get a new tank make sure to save the filler neck, as the crooked one will be necessary if there is no body lift on your truck. I had to have a shop braze it over to the new tank.

Any way you could flatten it out?

Maybe take a pic so we can see for sure what you are talking about, just in case.

After looking at it closer I think it was just the light hitting it weird. It's a little wavy but nowhere as bad as I thought.

However, I won't be re using the fuel line coming off the tank. Or any other hose on the Blazer...

 
Anybody have any ideas on a good in cab heater? Like a small RV version I could run off of propane and run with a second battery that could charge from a solar panel and the alternator? Something that would vent exhaust out thru the fender wheel well out side of the Blazer???
 
What the heck is that??

I'd swear it has 3:73s?? Who'd gear it to that?? What came stock???

 
It got worse, my '80 had TH350/NP205/2.73:1, so my crawl ratio was like 13:1 :doah:

GM is notorious for gearing trucks too high.

That's an asphalt lubricator.... :haha:



CK5 would have you believe that it's a gear adapter to correct the speedometer... Usually for larger tires, etc. They seem to do a great job of leaking oil though. There is a scraper seal that you can replace for around $20 inside there that should clear things up.
