DJz Blazer

New metal tank didn’t want to go in. The filler neck would not clear the top of the frame, and went right into the body mount. I’ll mess with it later don’t have time for it now. On the plastic tank I found a loose hose clamp on one of the breather lines coming off the tank. So that should kill the gas smell when I fill it up.

If you have the old tank, you can unsolder the fill neck and resolder it to the new tank. It's how I did mine.

Thanks, unfortunately all I have is the plastic tank.
I have a friend who can fix the filler neck on the new metal tank, but I have more important things to get done before KOH so it can wait.
I only have five days off between now and KOH so I have to balance what I need to get done so I can pit.

It got worse, my '80 had TH350/NP205/2.73:1, so my crawl ratio was like 13:1 :doah:

GM is notorious for gearing trucks too high.

Yeah but it helps mileage at least. :dunno: Unless it’s Just too too tall, which 2:73’s definitely are.

I love how your making this a nice runner and not chopping her up....................yet.

AND Don’t please...don’t. It’s Too clean a rig too. I hate seeing a clean rig hacked up.

Full cage, better suspension, rear tire carrier, steering, frame strength, tool and supply storage, some aluminum panels in the rear interior fender, and so on....

Keeping it as stock looking as possible along the way. Can't really go up in height more that 1 to 2 inches as it won't fit into the garage without airing down. I have some ideas kicking around in my head for some aluminum or stainless boxes for storage and still have room to sleep inside the Blazer. I'd like to get all the crap you see in the picture nicely tucked away so I have plenty of room to still move around in the back. No real plan for a rear seat at this point.

The custom width Master Craft seat for my K5 I bought, I fabbed/built custom Tilt brackets for so its tiltable forward and clears my cage. It’s also easily removable. Built so I could still sleep in it out camping :saweet:. We get t to home k up sometime, you’re not too far, couple hours away maybe. Would Love to see your rig in person :saweet::waytogo:
