Well I think that it's time for me to start this thread, as I am past the initial installation and start up.
The back story.
I had a '72 350 which was running fine with TBI on an Edelbrock performer intake with an adapter and 1" spacer. It had a head crack and leak coolant. The heads were milled some, and had screw in studs and guide plates. I made the decision to go with Edelbrock aluminum heads, this forced me to upgrade exhaust as my manifolds were too small.
After these two parts swaps, the TBI was not happy. It had a custom chip already and the data-log wasn't showing a problem, but it wasn't driveable. The 1200 rpm and up was bad. Stumbling and using too much gas. No power. I did consult Howell EFI and he helped me fix a small amount, but it still was bad.
After much consideration, I decided to try the Edelbrock system. It has timing control already, fuel pressure is hooked to a vacuum reference, intake air temp sensor and MAP sensor, progressive throttle bores, which are 44mm each, 4 of them. Sequentially fired injectors with a single plane intake. Wideband O2 sensor included. The ECM is remote mounted, bluetooth accessible and has an IBM (?) port too. I believe that a USB port would be better, but I don't know for sure.
I called Edelbrock tech before I made the decision and was pleased that I had a guy on the line in a few seconds. But I still didn't know that I was going in the right direction.
I liked the fact that I could use an Android device to link to it.
I ordered the system from Summit and got to work.
This is how it showed up.

Dave, can you answer a few questions for @JT88K5 ?

He’s thinking pf4
Has a 700
Want to know more about the tv cable and linkage as well as the torque converter control

I made a throttle cable / TV cable bracket out of some that I had already. Cut/bend/weld.
I am fairly confident that I based it off of the operating angles and dimensions of the factory TBI, but I can't swear to it. I do know that I am still using the factory TV cable.
My transmission has been modified in the valve body for fully hydraulic lock-up, I found out after installation, so that will need to be addressed for his situation. Multiple options, IMO.

I have the factory bracket from my TBI motor, do I need to modify or can it simply be transferred?

Regarding the TC lockup, I am guessing that is controlled electronically from the stock ecm. And if I understand, the item you linked supplies the electronic signal in place of the stock ecm and operates on vacuum from the PF4 intake?

Yes, simple 12v standing hot when running on one side. Then the output for the lock up

Adjustable is required, that way you can just where the locked comes in and out in relation to throttle

It won't just transfer, from what I remember. Which is why I had to build one. Unfortunately I don't remember the details that were so different that I built one.
You might be able to buy one, but I don't know for sure.

At least we can get the meaning of this, even though it reads like you and Wade are using the same spell check..

Yeah this phone needs to take a bath

Thanks guys. Plan is to call Edelbrock tomorrow and get this stuff ordered. I’ll ask them what bracketry they have to support the 700.

I’d plan on running 58 psi. Then you can use an ep381 delco pump.

Other items you need
Edelbrock has a rail mounted regulator that works well
Coil, there are a specific handful

Some kits need this to help with the ratio...

I have a PF4 in stock that could ship out right away. Call me with any questions or the CK5 deal. (262)495-8861

Also, lots of companies make GM throttle cable/kickdown brackets, but it needs to clear the fuel rail.

Are some interfering?

Well some of the brackets bolt to the intake manifold bolt holes and that's right where the fuel rail is. It needs to bolt to the carb or inward on the intake. However, too many that bolt to the carb only use one bolt, and I don't trust those, they can pivot.

That’s good shopper info. Thanks for clarifying

I often modify a stock one like @6872xtc did. I usually bolt to one carb bolt and one of the coil mount bolt bosses on the intake if they are there. Since the cables pull forward/back there usually isn't much side load if aligned correctly. But that requires fab work.

This one and other like it could work well if they clear the fuel rail, which I believe they might but haven't tried this exact one to see if the lower portion hits the fuel rail..

With customer jobs I have to change my strategy because labor can quickly cost more than parts and extend lead times.

When I bought my first proflo, Edelbrock tossed that one in with it. I didn’t end up needing any of the kick down brackets obviously, but it’s a nice set up.

I ended up adding a couple of 3/8 height spacers. Have you had to mess with them much?

I’ll have to take pictures of it for the thread that’s on my pick up

I haven't, but I also haven't used a 700R4 kickdown in several years to be honest. For the 700R4 I only used the factory GM kickdown cable and made sure it was adjusted correctly, should be very tight at WOT and still have some spring tension at idle.

I don’t even have an automatic!
I think I didn’t like the geometry of the cable

i run this one that was linked above . but i run a th400 also . but the amount of adjustment on this kit for EACH cable and the 4 included most comon cable clip style brackets makes it a no brainer . its on my PF4 unit and clears all the stuff on it . i used 1 of the universal brackets on the bottom side and its my hidden return spring mount and with the adjustment i dialed in the tension my foot/ankle liked .

Thanks for all of the input. ProFlo and coil were ordered from Volcano. Linkage from Summit. Hope to install next weekend.

I also managed to lose the spacer between the motor and ac bracket. If anyone watched Ted Lasso, insert Ray’s favorite word here. Location as I can best describe is lower left corner of the head, or on the block just below that, looking at the front of the motor. Should anyone know the length of that spacer, please let me know. I don’t recall exactly what I used, but a 1/2 or 5/8 nut got it close eyeballing it.
