Euzoa's (re)build and rant

Dang. looking good. I was gonna say grab some 3/4tons with good ball joints or a set of 1 tons. It wont be long trust me!!!

Yea, i was thinking of lifting it when i wear out the tires that are on it.

Now onto my time honored tradition of not leaving well enough alone...

I was looking at the ratty seats that are in her (PO and his wife are well over weight and the managed to take a 4 inch chunk out of both buckets near the head rest, and they are not comfortable on rough anything) and I got to thinking that some nice new seats would be a good investment while i have the money.

I found these corbeau moabs that i really like. http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/moab/

And the price isnt bad.

now questions, would the neoprene be worth it? (I intend to run topless eventually)

What is the diffence between the pedastal mount and the ground mount brackets?

would they still tilt to get in and out of the back seat?

and finally how will they hold up in a DD?

Either you guys can help me, or i will post the answers as i figure them out.

Well I drove to San Diego for a buddies wedding now my tranny fluid smells burned, and she is shifting into second pretty hard. It had been hunting between gears some, but not to badly so i thought it would be ok. Then came traffic...
I have a poll up for advice about what to do
http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285282

I also have made up my mind on a name for her, big red Barbara Ann.
She is costing me more than i had hoped, but i just can't see getting rid of her anytime soon. Oh well...

Changed the tranny fluid, and the fluid in Both diffs, check out the picture of what came out of the front!

I tried to do the t-case as well, but i couldnt get the fill plug out with an adjustable, so i guess it will have to wait.

I also got my wife in on the action, she pulled the rear diff cover, painted both, and filled the front for me, What a woman!

Went to corral canyon ohv area with Pblaze725, had a blast riding shotgun.
I decided the trails where a little bit much for my stock DD, so it stayed at the campsite.

1) being in CA only, I would have just bypassed the heater :)

2) LineX quoted me 750-800 to do the entire floor and rear bed walls of my blazer. That's if I do the prep also.

3) pretty red, too pretty for me, I like scratches :)

4) Make sure all your vents are clean, that front diff oil looks like it had water in it, not uncommon, but make sure to replace nasty vent lines and extend them while ur at it.

5) Nice seats, too pricy for me right now, I'm just running some mid 90s cloth chevy seats. They are nice enough for DD, doesn't hold me in like an offroad seat, but not too anxious to sit in an offroad seat for hours on the freeway.

keep at it man, at least you got some help, even if shes just hanging out asking questions, it makes the job easier. I've done about 99% of the work on my truck alone, which you start talking to the radio, urself, and the truck....never a good thing to start arguments with the truck and have your neighbors see it.

Well, as of August it will be in upstate Ny so i figured i had better get the heater done.

That linex is pricey, i guess i will wait and do it myself at some point.

I dont try not to scratch it...I actually broke my radio antenna off in the brush this weekend.

It had alot of water in it but I didnt even think to change the vent tubes, but the tubes are in the stock locations (rear above the gas tank, front goes up high and i cant see it) i couldnt get the plug out of the rear so i found the ammount it should take (a post said 6.5 pints) and filled it through the vent, took a while but it worked. I made the mistake of not checking the torque on the rear cover and it started leaking so i will have to redo that.

Any advice of pulling the plug for the rear diff?

I decided against the new seats for now, i found a crack under one of the driveside mounts, i am just going to take care of that and cover them for now

I am finally starting to convice her that i actually WANT her help, she isnt in the way (most of the time). I also realized back a couple years ago that i had more deep and meaning full conversations with my truck than my roommate did with his girlfriend.

1/2 drive breaker bar and some penetrating lube should get that plug out no problem

can't remember if it's a 1/2 or 3/8 drive, either way get some leverage on it with a 2' bar.
When you replace it, put some anti-seize on it. Maybe just some Teflon tape and a little torque would work too.

3/8" drive. I use a ratchet with no socket.

Got my new diff cover put on today (pic below), it's from SOLID axle industries and im pretty impressed with it.

I also took hey to a local shop (master tech) to get the transmission looked at...1900! for them to pull it, dissassemble it, have me pay more for the parts and just replace what was wrong...2900 to install a reman!

I had to stop myself from laughing in their face... the first is more than my initial investment the second is about what i have into her.

So tommorow I am calling bowtieoverdrives, I will either buy a trans from them and install it myself, or i will just have them put it in depending on the price, i can take her that far.

Thats what i get for trying to take it to a place in a Military area.

Kinda surprised I haven't noticed your thread yet.

Sounds about right. My buddy had the trans go out on his Bronco twice and just took it to AAMCo right near base (MCAS Miramar) and they SOAKED him bad each time. Never said boo to me about it until afterward.:doah:

You're making progress man, keep it up.

I'd prefer a manual myself but the TH700R4 does have the advantages of already being there and OD gear.

I drop it off at bowtieoverdrives this afternoon, I will pass word on what it runs me.

I wanted to swap to a sm465, and would if i was already home, but by the time i piece it together outh here it just isnt worth it
