Got the trailer brakes installed this weekend before heading to the hill country. Took way longer to break in than the instructions said they would and required a full load to do it but after the first 100 miles I had turned the controller down from 10 to 5.
General question, thoughts on putting brakes on the other axle? Currently they are just on the rear axle and do a great job but I’m always a fan of having more brakes. Wondering if there is such a thing as to much braking power. Trailer has dual 3500lb axles and at the moment I don’t plan on hauling more than the rzr and quad. We are planning on dragging it to Tennessee next summer and they’ve got actual hills compared to us. Just thinking about brake fade and what not.
Also, what do y’all do for deck boards? Just regular treated pine or something else? If treated pine, do you let it dry for a while before installing or just bolt it in wet?
