G-body search

To keep this thread totally hi jacked ( sorry Gus). NO Corvette is built for a guy like me. I'm not that tall but short stubby legs and a long torso. Broad shoulders and a bit portly. Shoot no sports car is built for guys like me.

No worries about a Hijack

Originally I was looking for a clean C10 ( ideally like the black truck in Dazed and Confused ) but prices for any clean C10 (regardless of year) has gone insane .

My next choice is the G-body , which I have always wanted but never had .

Still have that 61 Chev? Is that an option?

I had a 78 monte Black with 8inch corvette rally wheels. Was a nice riding car...I drove it like a stock car! Fun!

I had the 78 short box the car and a 454... I tossed a coin and the truck won the prize! This was long before LS engines were invented.
I had the 78 monte carlo in sky blue with the 350 v8.
I put the honeycomb firebird wheels painted gold with big and little tires.
Drove it up to 160mph.
I loved that car and I only paid $500 for it.

So you were not kidding about shipping my 1970 c10 to Alaska?

The 61 is in body shop purgatory.

Body has been media blasted , rust repair completed and in sealer . Bottom of body and firewall have been painted . But project has stalled , dad’s buddy has had the car for 2 years now ......... never pay up front for bodywork.

Frame has been blasted and painted , suspension is done .

434 small block and New T10 are in the frame .

My Dad has kind of taking it over as a retirement project , I have been buying parts and sending them to his place as I find deals .

The original 6cyl and 3-speed are for sale if you know anyone looking lol.

Yeah , once I got a quote it killed the idea .

Supposedly, starting next year we are supposed to get a discounted rate through work on shipping 20ft connex’s . We will see.

There is a guy down the road that put a turbo 6.5 in a Malibu with a A833 o/d 4-speed . It’s his summer daily driver .

I run used oil in my 90 V3500 all the time , seems like perfect mix is about 70/30 diesel/used oil
