Good to knowThis one won't do the truck bed stuff. Get a good one for that. I wish I could have afforded one. This only hits 35" high

That is something I would love to have.So a few years ago my father found this lathe from 1957, it cost as much as three 57 Chevy's back in the day!
I bought it for $800, then sold a dial gauge off of it for $200.
I added a quick change tool holder and also bought a DRO for it but haven't had time to install that.
I use a VFD to control the old 11A 240V 3 phase "Allis Chalmers" motor, I didn't even know they made electric motors before I saw that.
Anyway, I have been using it for projects but more recently I cleaned it again and painted it with 3M industrial paint. Turned out not too bad...

Alice Chalmers used to have a large electrical division and produced a lot of stuff in the industrial and utility industry. Motors, transformers, large circuit breakers etc
I use it more than I thought I would. In fact, I used it first to repair itself in a way. That is something I would love to have.
Also had another question.. Is there anything a chopsaw can do that a mini band saw cant? Looking to maybe get rid of chopsaw to make some space.
Pre ordered this about a month ago, but I need it tomorrow.
Will probably never need it again lol
