GsxrMike's build thread...Frostbite 2011 Pictures are in!

I think I would do the V in the B pillar the other way, more in the shape of a V. An X would be best but need something to support the corners, they will take the hardest hit in a rollover.

I debated about this alot and If I ran them the other way they were going to give 0 leg room in the back. I am going to run another tube to the corner so it will be a y on each side. I am waiting to run this piece until I get my seats mounted because I am going to try and place it where the seat belt will mount. If this doesn't make sense then I will draw a picture for ya. Thanks for the help!

Front seats are in...

I got the front seats in. They are on sliders so they are adjustable, I built frames for the sliders and then welded some 1/2" all thread to the frames. This way I can adjust the height and pitch as well.

looks good.the way you did it will allow some options.its nice to be able to move the seats if ever so slightly to get that perfect spot.

Think I can get it done by new years eve?

Some pics for ya. My brother came over and helped me get the dash in and the heater in. I went down tonight and ran out of wire for the MIG  and so I started taping off my cage so I know whats left.

So I took the last two days off of work and got alot done. Here are some pics. My buddy is planning on coming over tomorrow night and burning in the cage. I just have two more pieces to add until the cage is "done". I think I may add a few supports here and there. What do ya think?

Looking good. You going to make it down for frostbite again?

I think so! It depends on the weather because if it is real freakin cold then I may skip it. No way to stay warm.

I saw you made it in the calendar! Congrats! I want to know where the hell that pic was taken because that looks sick.

My brother said we are taking you for a ride this year if we make down to frostbite. I really really wanna go. I have actually been meaning to look in to heated motorcycle clothing that I could wire into my rig to stay warm. Prolly to much dough though you know? :haha:

Thanks for the congats on the calendar. The place of the pic is just outside the town you went to when you were down for frostbite.

Just wear lots of layers and you'll be fine. Haha. Surely you could rig up some sort of soft top to hold in heat couldn't ya? Just get some canvas or even a tarp and attach it to the cage? Just a thought...

that electric mc clothing warmer is not cheap like 300 a set.works real good from what i hear though.

I have my filter inside the cab like that and I'm going to be building a box around it. It's getting pretty damn annoying after a while.

Is yours a DD or trail only? My won't see that many miles so I think I will be able to put up with it. Plus with no roof etc it may not trap the sound inside as much.

dunno if it would work with your cage, but I've got a black bestop full soft top ('73-75) sitting in the garage. Think I have all the main parts cept for maybe some snaps or screws. Might keep ya a little warmer...

Just incase anybody was curious, I went wheeling yesterday and it was great. I only made it 20 feet outside my until I got stuck in a 3' snow drift. It took about 3 hours to dig it out after I broke a ujoint but was all worth it. I'm now trying to convince the wife to let finish my 60 so I can stop poppin joints.

Pic of finished product...

Here is a picture of the dash. It isn't a very good picture but I put the gauges in the middle with the two heater vents on either side.
