GsxrMike's build thread...Frostbite 2011 Pictures are in!

I got my front driveshaft done today!

Here are some pics of the new front driveshaft! I went with a new single cardan shaft instead of CV because I was worried about the angle of it but I don't think I needed to. Enjoy...

Thank you!

Funny my wife just said the same thing!:haha:

Thanks for the comment! I did a little bit of offroading tonight. My buddy (the only guy that really helped me on this) came over tonight and we went over some dirt piles in my back yard. She climbed right over them. It was sweet! I should get my rims next week! I can't wait to see what she will do with some good rubber!:D I am going to have to do something about my transfer case though because I could not for the life of me get it into high gear. It finally went into high gear after I pulled it in the garage!:haha:I pulled it out on the road in front of my house and she was screaming going about 25mph:eek1: and then I had to pull into the ditch because there was a car coming:haha:

ooo thats purdy, ill be gettin a new shaft here soon to try and solve some vibration issues wish it was gonna be is pretty as yours! nice build up so far

Omg!!!

Yeah so my wife woke me up this morning and told me to go close the gates that I left open last night so I figured it would be a perfect oppertunity to drive my K5. I hopped in and went and shut the first gate, backed up and ran out of gas. I had to go fill a gas can with the gas in my truck. Filled K5 out in the cold (upper 30's) in my PJs. So then I was like hell I am going to go wheel a bit. I drove into the field and decided to put my front tire up on a hay bale. I was up on the hale bale and decided to see if I could go any higher and then :eek1::eek1::eek1: she started to roll :eek1::eek1::eek1: and I was on a hill :eek1::eek1::eek1:! I was 100% sure she was going to end up on her top or maybe even a 3/4 or a full roll. As I was looking out of my passenger window at the ground getting closer and closer she slowed down, stopped, and started going the other way. Whew!!! She slammed to the ground on all 4s and I sat there with my jaw open for like a full minute. (I was sleeping 20 minutes ago) So much for the idea of not needing a cage. I think since my K5 doesn't have shocks yet, the suspension compressed when I went for that last little bit and then uncompressed and sent me in the wheels up direction! I went in and parked her and came inside and put in some chew! Holy piss that was close! (It was funny all of the thoughts that can run through your head during a situation like that, one of which "this will be a cool picture"):haha:

i heard from a tranny shop overfilling the trans is bad news they said it can potentially blow seals in the trans and whatnot so it may be a good idea to drain a lil out asap

Yeah my tranny fluid came spewing out of the vent under hard acceleration and got back down to a normal level. I will check it again next time I get her hot! As for the picture I really wish someone had a camera while I was one two wheels! I don't think any of my friends understand what it is like to be in that situation...looking at the ground next to you through the passenger window while your dog is laying on the door giving you that "wtf did you do" look.

Can you say Sexy!

Here is one of my new wheels. I am getting the boggers mounted tomorrow. WHOO HOO!:D
