"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

Sliders work great! Landed on them a few times last weekend.

Bent the main tube for a front bumper tonight! Pics tomorrow. I need to mod my winch plate to fit the tube to it.

Ok making some more progress on the bumper.

Winch is off. Gonna have to remove the fairlead mounts I'm pretty sure.

Need opinions on the stinger bar. Too tall?

Few pics of it mocked up.

I shortened up each side 1" or actually 1" on one side and 1 3/8" on the other to make it sit level due to my measuring or bending order. I haven't checked the final angle, but I think one side is 2* off from the other. I tried to fix it, but not sure if I got it or not. Chels says its just my OCD kicking in

The notcher is freakin MONEY! I had to do math and stuff, but after I figured out the angles it worked great. About a minute per side and done! Still have to clean each side up a little with the grinder, but it's pretty damn close.

Looking good Brian...

I did the height on mine based on the a pillar hoop on my cage... I wanted to make sure if it landed on it's top the rad and everything else wouldn't get crushed...

But, it would have to be flat ground...:D

If there was a big boulder in between those it would still crush everything... Didn't dawn on me until later...:doah:

looks good....

stinger looks identical to mine, couple inches taller...

I am guessing it will end up being just below the top of the hood line.

Very clean all around and i love the 40'' emblem lol. Got some fatty dubs :haha:

I was buying some hardcore parts at Autozone and noticed the chrome 20" emblems and then the chrome #'s. I had to!

so does this make it hardcore now?:D

I hope so :D

I looked at yours when I was researching designs.

Didn't get much done tonight. Got the bottom plate on the winch tray cut off and the fairlead mounts removed.

I am going to put the bottom plate back on, but at a little different angle so there is a gap between the main plate and the angled plate for the tube to sit in instead of trying to weld it where they meet. I think this will be stronger, and probably much easier to get level. :wink1:

Ok here is design change 13 for my new brackets. Its very hardcore so try and follow along :haha:

The red 1/4" plate will go where my existing side plates are now, but have a notch for the tube, and be the center part of my D-Ring points.

The Green 1/4" plates one on the inside and outside of both red side plates will be laminated and plug welded to the red plate.

The D-ring point will be 3/4" thick and I think that should be good. The notch for the tube should really help with strength and make welding the tube on much easier as I wont have to figure out a way to hold it up there :waytogo:

Looking good Brian, nice job on the sliders.

This is one of the coolest homegrown builds of all time. Makes me think I could maybe do some of this stuff one day. All you really need now is a full cage (which I know you are capable of making) and a doubler to help conquer those hard core trails. I remember watching your YouTube videos of you climbing that steep rock hill and thinking that a doubler would have made it much easier.

Nice build

I really like you truck I don't care for truggy's I like that you kept the body intact even if it has 1000 dents:waytogo:

Thanks man! Ya the cage is in the very near future after I finish this bumper. Sorta popping my cherry on this bender with the bumper LOL.

On the to do list is a front locker and Hydro assist. I have everything for hydro except one part and then the locker. Im leaning towards OX or ARB because the trails are so tight up here turning radius rules.

Someday an Atlas :pimp:

I dont think I'm to 1000...yet. :D

You should take a look at the doubler. With your ingenuity, you should be able to assemble it. I think you would like it better because you made it, just like the rest of your truck. Besides, you can find a used adapter plate for a couple hundred or less, and the NP203 goes for about $150 most of the time. I don't think the 205 is very much either. How much is an Atlas? $1,500?

If you popped your cherry on the bender.......i think its safe to say, you're doing it wrong :dunno::haha:

Can someone show this guy how to properly use a bender? :haha:

Keep up the great build man!:thumb:
