I barely even touch that tree on the pass side anymore lol.
Those last couple pics on the rock I was on that tree against the pass bed side pretty hard. It actually smoothed out some dents.
Got my WFO arms in the mail yesterday. Still waiting on my bronze bushings and my frame bushings for the CC so I can start that project.

Well went to get brake pads for the CC today and noticed a little uneven wear so I held off until I can get the rotors turned as well. Squeaky brake is the driver front so I cleaned up the pad and rotor real good and put it back together.
Upper shackle bushing on order through 4wp and still waiting on my bronze bushings for the Kingpins. Hopefully next weekend get the brakes and crossover done on the CC and new springless arms on the K5.
Until then I figured the corrosion is getting bad on the CC so I should do a little work. KInda hard to tell from these pics, but you can see where the pain is peeling. That was a year ago and those spots were starting to surface rust.
Its in primer right now. Gonna hit it with some paint here in a few. Figure that will at least stop it and hold me over till I have the $$ to paint the thing.

Going to be nice tomorrow so I just left the primer alone for tonight. I think I am going to go with a Black grey Black paint on the CC for now. Even if its just rattle can it will look better than the peeling white, or patchy repair job. The worst areas are sanded and primed. The cab has a few areas that need to be sanded as well.
So the paint on the Crew Cab has been deteriorating badly since I moved back to WA from Cali. Several spots were missing paint and with the moisture up here the primered areas began to rust.
The edges of the hood were the worst and then the areas of the cab behind the doors. Didnt get many before pictures.
I was originally just going to hit the bad spots and clean them up, primer them and hit them with some gloss white, but after I got the edges of the hood done in black taped off on the body line I really liked how it looked.
So I went and got more primer and some sanding discs. Off came the trim and I got to work.

Oh forgot to add when i was sanding the hardened 3M tape off from the original trim. This area didnt have metal like everywhere else. Its very thin, but wasn't too thrilled to see any filler on the truck. Looks like it just had a dent and somebody filled it. Probably why the box paint was in better shape. Its been resprayed at some point.

I only finished the black the first night of painting. I think I had a full day of sanding and several hours of masking.
I kinda liked the black white black scheme, but I had bare metal everywhere the trim was on both sides. Already had the grey primer so I went with it.
No prep or masking pics of this step. It was Monday after work with rain pending so I just got it done. Little bit of a breeze and not quite enough patience and I got a little over spray on the black. No biggies as it will end up getting sanded and painted at some point here soon. The grey dried much darker than I thought it would. Now I know its just primer, but I really wanted to get an idea of what the truck would look like in a two tone scheme. Final colors are undecided, but it will be dark light dark similar to the primer.
Besides the overspray and some streakiness in the grey I really like how it turned out. Much more appealing than the all white. I was pretty set on never re doing the trim, but now I think it would look great with it in a dark color.

Well the stuff at the store was expensive and I didnt need that much. There were a few Transformers rolls in the closet so I grabbed one and I doubt the pink stuff was ever gonna get used!

Use what ya have on hand.

Yeah the center color will definitely be lighter than the current primer. Not sure on the dark yet. I like the black, but I was thinking a dark blue would be cool too.

On to some good stuff.
The death wobble on the CC has been getting BAD! 30 MPH is undriveable so I always have to speed or drive slower than the limit. Good reason to get some K5 parts too.
Got some WFO springless arms for the K5 and some of the Bronze Kingpin bushings for both trucks. Also got a pitman arm for the CC from WFO. Wow their shipping rocks!
2-3 days max for stuff to come in.
Got the new daystar frame bushings for the front shackles. They should take a tip from WFO on shipping. Been almost a month and they still arent in.
Gonna re-use my old draglink from the K5 that was a bit short and just use a longer DLE on one end.
Have a new 2wd box that I never used so that will go on the CC.
Gonna use my Sky arm from the K5 on the CC too. Also ordered an XJ shaft off ebay.
Hopefully get everything on this weekend except the bushings cause they wont be here till Mon.
Going to have a go at building my own steering box brace too. Have a few old bushing sleeves I am going to weld up, some plat e and some tubing. Should be sufficient.

Got the Aamco kingpin bushings and WFO springless arms installed on the K5. Still havent gotten to the CC as it isnt getting driven much and my room mates Trans Am is currently taking up my garage space. Wheeling this weekend!

Well got a little bit of work done, but not too much. Been wheeling when I can and working a lot.
Got the new bushings and springless arms on the K5.
Bushings have been installed and abused for 3 years. I was surprised they are in one piece!
