"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

Carnage for the day was the big white K5 cut a tire. Plugged it, but pulled the plug out shortly after. Had to pull it off the trail when the tire came off the bead and he broke a weld on the front shaft trying to drive out in front wheel drive.

I spit another front driveshaft u-joint. This time it bent the u-bolts quite a bit and chipped the sides of the yoke. Put a spare joint in and just pounded them straight and then wrenched them down tight. Killed the joint by the end of the day, but stayed together so success! Gonna get replaced with a 1410 yoke now.

I also developed a hole in my gas tank from debris/rust. Got that patched up with some putty and some rags shoved back between the putty and the skid. Hasnt leaked a drop since, but a cell is going in now too.

I also broke my Fu%^&kin windshield! Only thing I care about on the body:rolleyes: Wasn't paying attention and caught a tree hanging out over the trail. Oh well at least its not in my line of sight.

Getting ready to go on a det to Alaska for a few weeks so I will get some extra $$ then pick up some new driveshaft parts and a fuel cell. Also still gotta get to pick and pull and get my DD 241 to make some progress on my doubler.

On a side note last time I was at pick and pull I got a set of windstar fans, a set of grey silverado rear door panels for the Crew Cab and a XJ shaft for the Crew Cab steering project.

awesome pics as always!!!

Looks like a good time. I put a crack in my windshield on that last flop, was the last unscathed piece here too. 1410's ftw:waytogo:

Yeah it was my last unscathed piece as well. I am just glad I didn't bend my A-pillar!

Yeah gonna go to 1410 at the pinion with girdles for the U-joint caps. :pimp:

Not too much to update. Been in and out for work a few times this summer.

Crew Cab still doesnt have crossover :dunno: I bought my honda and now it just sits a lot.

Blazer has been getting abused every chance I get. Fires had our local wheeling spot closed so we had the end of summer BBQ for the club in town at my buddies place. The shots were all on private land. Some at the end are me "cutting" a new trail through the bushes. :haha:

The little rock pile. I always hang up here on y wrap bar crossmember. Tried it at an angle and didnt even spin a tire!

The big rock. I am still the only rig in the club that can "drive over" this rock in both directions.

read through the whole build. it was really inspiring and gave me some great ideas for my k5. I am curious as to how much you have invested in your fab equipment (tubing bender, tubing dies, and notcher) if you dont mind me asking. I also love your fab work! keep it up.

I got my Pro tools set up as a package with the bender, stand, degree wheel, 2 dies and a notcher for $1300. They run the same special often. The package didn't include the 180* dies, but I asked and they upgraded me. :waytogo:

Got some new parts for the K5 today thanks to WFO and their awesome sale for Turkey day!!!

Yukon 35 spline stubs and flanges along with 1410 yokes for both axles. :pimp:

This stuff is huge!

Brown dog approves!

My dog would have been over there helping me unwrap the stuff and seeing what she could pick up and haul off and hide somewhere. :haha:

Ok finally took a week off of work and found the time to get this thing inside. Spent most of the day putting up lights so I just got one side apart to make sure I didnt need more parts. Everything looks fine with the exception of that stub

Would like to get this 1410 on the front at least. Does anybody know where I can buy the big 10 spline slip with a 1410 yoke already on it?:dunno:

I really like this thread. Nothing better than a beat and nasty blazer. Love it. I had a question for you on your steering. have you ever had problems with your steering box with the tapped caps? Some people say not to do it this way, but I think it should work fine. I am pretty sure I want to go this route and thought I should ask you how yours has held up since you use your stuff good and hard :waytogo:. I know you havn't posted anything on this for a while...any updates? This things is sick!
