Heavy Half 91 Burb build

Thanks Snuff, It wasn't too bad, you need to get goin on that lift and I would be more than happy to come help. I have all the tools so it would be twice as easy . After you get that done we could do some trail riddin, I'll take my Toyota though.... I was a member with Magic City 4x4 club for a while when my bro lived here and I'm thinking about joining up again. Get that lift on, it will be a blast and you'll meet some equally good dudes.

You're telling me I need to get going on the lift. :sign17: My main issue I'm having now is that the TBI unit on Fillmore is giving me fits so I am thinking of having it rebuilt by a pro. I also need a front driveshaft since I stripped out the splines on the old one.......whoops.

After that though, I was given the OK by Debb to get my tires once our taxes get done in a week or so. I happened to find a set of 35" BFG's for $400 on CL. The owner says they're pretty new, but they're in Baker which is 75 miles east of Miles City. Google maps says it's 446 miles round trip. Long way to go for a deal on tires. I'd probably spend as much on gas as I would on the tires. :D

:pimp: Update:

Got my stereo finished up this weekend. Installed all new speakers and a new powered sub I got off of Amazon for $99. Also pulled out my 3rd row seat for good. I've got to get my mess cleaned up tonight and I'll try to get some pics up. The little sub is frickin cool.

Nice clean lookin burb:waytogo:

Thanks, still have a lot to do though. While I had the dash off for the stereo install I pulled out all the vents and replaced them with some black metal mesh. I think it looks a lot better but when I get some pics up, I'll let you guys be the judge.

Ok, got some pics of the new vents and the dash.

Here are some of the powered sub. This thing is great, I didn't want anything to rattle the thing apart just some more depth. I listen to country and this thing is perfect.

See that is something I might do because mine are broken in my truck, but on my burb they are fine and I like to be able to direct the air to me or away from me.
Where yours messed up or it's just for the looks?
They do look nice is why I am asking.

Thanks Iceman, the old vents would always hang down and were a little wore. I just thought this would look better. This is not my DD so not being able to point the air flow where I want isn't to big of a deal for me.

Nice work on the vents, something new I haven't seen before and I like it.

Seeing how much stuff you can have in the back of the burb reminds me how much I miss mine collecting dust in my garage

Thanks, I don't think the pics do them enough justice, they look better in person. I've been flushing my radiator today since it was so full of crud. After driving around with the heat on high I think they pass the test. :thumb:

Debb and I had to go to the mall yesterday to get Katy's bunny pictures and I saw that new "Vato Zone" in place. I wish I had a parts store within spitting distance to my house like some people do.......

Yea I'm pretty stoked about it being so close. I guess since they tore down my watering hole the 2nd best thing would be a parts store!

man thats an AWESOME idea for the vents. damn things are floppy as hell in my Suburban. i might have to steal that idea.

Thanks Muddy, steal away. I'm sure I'm not the first person to do it. It only cost about $10 with material and hardware. I got the mesh from a file holder that I found at Walmart but I've seen more selection and colors at places like Office Depot and Staples.

I finally got an ALDL cable from OBD Diagnostics, it showed up yesterday but I haven't had time to use it yet because I worked late last night.

I will be posting and findings and lots of questions that I'm sure I will have in this thread so hopefully some of you guys are pretty good with WinALDL.:dunno:

Also what programs other than Winadl are good and user friendly? I'm sure there will be a nice learning curve so anyone have a favorite they use?

I will be posting and findings and lots of questions that I'm sure I will have in this thread so hopefully some of you guys are pretty good with WinADL.:dunno:

I would be willing to throw you a couple of $$ or a 12 pack of your favorite beverage if we could throw Fillmore on that WinADL one of these days so I can see what the hell is going on with him. I'm still getting an occasional code 44, (lean condition). I have no idea what the hell is causing it either.

You bet Snuffy! Step one will be learning how the hell to work this set up. I didn't have much time last night but I did take it for a little drive to try it out. On WinALDL it did flow some data but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at yet. It would only give me the first 3 rows and occasionally a few more rows of data would fill up. I also tried Tuner pro RT but that was a complete failure, it just said cable not connected?

I need to do some more reading up on this.
