How will my K5/truck look with xx" tires on xx" of lift?

I think they're American Racing, and they now have a bit more rock rash than pictured. Also, Iceman bought my '73 (Green) Blazer, and it will end up with the '90's 10 bolts and wheels under it. So, no, the wheels won't come up for sale.

What will come up for sale in the future is the push bar though... :deal: I know you've been looking for one. :wink1:

Here's my K5. 4" in front, 5" in back, and 3" body lift running 35x12.50x15 Pro Comp M/T's. Ready to go bigger though!

I've still got the sway bar on there. At full stuff the tires can rub just the bottom most part of the back of the front fenders. You can't tell there's any wrinkles in the bottom of the fenders though, unless you're REALLY looking for it. It mostly doesn't happen unless I'm turning too.

Nice truck

Isn't it great pissing off the people who sunk $30000 into their jeeps when you blow their doors off blasting down the trail?

Really nice truck man. Whats your gear ratio?

And to quote a friend of mine: "Stupid Jeep kids... they're so stupid"

Right now it has 3.73's but I'm looking at some tons with 4.56's...that should get me going with a little more ease. The 3.73's are great for mileage (when you are on a level road running highway speeds and the engine is under 2,000 RPM.) But since I only hit the highwayfor 4 miles of my commute, I'd rather some lower gears.

And dont get me wrong about the Jeep folks. They have very capable rigs, but I don't think I could ever build something on a family budget that I only use a few times per year. CK5'ers seem like more real world people to me.

Nice rig, and Jeeps are Mehhhhh. Theres soo many of em they arent even fun to look at any more, the sickest jeep will get less attention from me than a decent looking k5 etc

Fixed it. :waytogo:

Do you have a transmission cooler? If not, you really should get one. Gearing like that with those size tires is a bad combination for transmission temp in a 700R4. The new 4.56 gears will help, but not significantly with the temperature. That is still fairly high gearing for those tires. Now, with that said, there's plenty of guys on the board running 4.56 gears and 40" tires, it's jut not as desirable as a 5.13 to 5.38 gear for 38" tires. Improving your gear ratio will give you better mileage in town and on the highway, as you're likely lugging the engine now at highway speed, and having to give it a ton of fuel to get it going around town. You may already know all this, but figured I'd throw it out there just in case.

Cool looking truck! I like the stance.

This is why I asked as well. I'd move to the 4.56's and a cooler asap if you dont have a cooler.

My 700R4 ate it on 33's and 4.10's WITH a trans cooler. I still don't know the cause of death yet though...

Either way it is a very nice truck man.

The 33s and 4.10s surprises me.

To B.N.Z.MTNS: A cooler system can be put together for pretty cheap. I just bought a kit at the local parts store for $60. Well worth the peace of mind!

I do have a trans cooler, the PO put one in along with a bigger radiator after he fried the trans. He also put in a torque converter lock up switch, so when I know I'm in top gear for a while I can keep the trans from shifting in & out of overdrive. When I bought it the trans was pretty fresh along with a rebuilt engine about 1 year prior.

As far as gears go, I did some calculations and the 4.56's are closest to factory speeds / RPM's with the increased tire size. I only drive 7 miles to work so My rig hardly warms up before I park it. I drive further in the summer on my weekends when we go wheeling.
