Looked up the Stage1 Registry website, and found where to look for engine stamping.
Yay again! It is a Stage1 block!

very cool news. You have a good machine shop in town ? Can't let just anybody at those parts. Make sure to have the heads well inspected, have more then 1 B455 with micro cracks
That is one cool find. I always have loved Buicks of that era. I still kick myself for not bringing my 69 Wildcat Custom to Tennessee.

Fast forward 33 years, and an older couple (80's) decided to get rid of their 3 Buicks. They are going to give their son the 1966 GS. They are going to sell their 1965 Skylark. They decided to give away their 1971 GS!

Yes. Lots of assembly required! I think this book, and another I am buying off of marketplace will help. Also there is a 1971 GS455 in town that I can look at for help.

no, from what you are saying I take it this is something you would look for off and on because you wanted a Buick and the sentimental value. I am glad you got it because I know it will be restored and not just thrown together.
