Another newbie with an '83 K5

I'm 38, and live in West Linn, Oregon. I bought my first 4WD truck, a 1983 K5 a couple of years ago. So far I've just been prepping it for basic offroading, rebuilt the 350 with a better cam, intake, etc., 6" rancho lift, etc. Still have to buy tires, probably go for 35" and plan on better axles soon! I want something I can use at the sand dunes and a little bit of rock crawling and snow. See ya out on the trails!

Hello, new member here and fairly new to offroad 4 wheelin. I'am not really computer savy yet and type really slow. But any way I have a 1970 Chev 4x4 that I'am building and having fun with it , despite the wife. It was a lwb and I had the frame shorten by Charlies Drop Shop here in Portland. Ore. I then found a guy that shortens the bed floor. I guess I really wanted a swb. So far I had the frame powder coated, d60, 14blt, 410 gears, detroit locker in rear, turbo 400, GM ht 383 crate motor, 205 t case, twin stick, weld 16x8 rims, BF mudders. Now all I need to do is put it all back together, but like I said I,am having fun with it. I love the 67 to 72 trucks. Any way I live in Beaverton, Oregon and look forward to learning and getting help with my project. Thanks, Jayoshow

I've been lurking on this site for some time and am impressed with what you guys come up with. I don't have a Chevy, I have a Ford Whatsit, but a lot of the tech crosses over and that's why I'm here. If it helps, I do have a 1981 Z28, and it's not stock.

Ford

Fords are o.k. I've always been a chevy person. Got 4 of them now. But I got a old 1982 f-150 6cyl 4x4 had it for 10 years still going stong. body is shot we just use it in the woods, I guess I'll keep it around.

Blazer in Utah

Hi all,

I'm John from Utah. I have an 87 blazer that I picked up for $600 a few months ago.

It's stock: 350 TBI, 14 bolt posi rear, Dana 44 front, a transmission that won't go into 3rd gear, spray painted black and (my favorite mod) -- an ARB sticker on the front fender

It also has 39.5 Superswampers on beadlocks.

I hope to put in a full roll cage, dual transfer case and maybe a front locker :D .

Anyone here from Utah?

im new

im new. my username is log crawler. i live in grand forks north dakota, im originaly from federal hieghts colorado. in earstern nd theres no buttes like western nd just flat swampy areas. ive always been just a chevy pickup man until i broke down and got a blazer for the awesome wheelbase. fortunitly i hooked up with some guys on the other side of the river in mn recently with private trails in the hilly wooded terrain along the river banks. these guys got really flexy rigs that crawl to the top of our 30 degree rti ramp. most of the rigs i wheel with are jeeps but im sold on blazers now, i love staying full size yet having a good wheelbase. the trails are really technical and i refuse to get a jeep like everyone else. i want to keep up with these guys. i got a 80' k5 with crossover steering,454,turbo 350,np205,dodge dana 60,corperate 14 bolt,42"tsl,5.13s,shackle flip in rear, lowered hangers up front. in front and rear i just took random leaf springs and tried to put together the softest packs i could. i cant wait to start geting helpful info from other people who run blazers.

Hello there fellow Chevy owners. I go by Bigtread and I live in Virginia Beach (gotta travel to wheel anything fun) I've been checking this site out for awhile and I like it, lots of good info. :waytogo:
I own an 86 K30 that gets used quite alot and it shows, the hood is the only thing kinda straight. Goes everywhere my little jeep buddies go!
Working on suspension mods front and rear along with tube doors which I intend to make and run as long as they don't look like ass, we will see.
Anyway good to meet everyone. :D

Hello everyone
My name is Braden Mare and im on the crew for the only race Monster Truck in B.C. Canada. I have a 32 chevy coupe mud racer of my own and on my first event ever i won first place. I live in Princeton but the truck is in Okanagan Falls. The driver and owner is Ron Tasker of Ok Falls. Hes an old mud racer. He first built a datson 280z with 44 inch monster mudders. Then for fun he built and raced a 68 vw bettle with 40 inch monster mudders. Then he got into the big boys with a full blown 32 chevy coupe mud racer. It had a 468 blown alcohol big block chevy with 1200 horses. Then he got into the even bigger boys. The monster trucks. He built the truck with help from some friends in his small machine shop runnin' wild machining. The truck is a 1966 chevy panel fibre glass body, 66 inch goodyear terra tires, 468 blown big block, cutom chain transfer case, leaf sping suspension, and 10 ton rockwell differentials.
