Introductions & Greetings

Hey guys My name is Frank im from Miami, Fl.

I Got a 87 k5 that I bought 7 years ago it is completely stock with no rust, unfortunately it has been sitting in a warehouse for 6 years.

The engine won't turn so I'm in the procces of trying to get it unstuck. I'm also trying to decide wether to keep it or sell it. I found some nice places to go offroad not far from me so this is making me want to keep it

thanks and I hope to be on here more

I have never been a part of a forum or member of one, never posted on one as a guest so be gentle.

I have owned old (73 to 87) chevys my whole life and all of them have been trucks. For the first time in my life I own a 1977 GMC Jimmy and have a whole new love. I thought that I couldn't drive without a bed behind me but I was wrong. The wierd thing is that this Jimmy has been in the family all my life and has been a one owner vehicle since it left the lot with my dad in 77. Strange.

My pops couldn't bear the thought of some schmuck driving around his baby so he gave it to me after I sold my 87 1-ton 3+3 with 454 / 700R4 / 14FF and D60 about a week ago.

I have known about this website for a long time but never took advantage of the members knowledge by joining the forums. Now I have questions about the K5 trucks and joined. I am very glad that I did and my wife is sorry that we own a computer because for the past 3 days I haven't left the website and barely left the computer. I have been glued to all the old topic discussions.

If anyone has advise on this forum deal and what not to do I would appreciate that. Other than that I look forward to talking with you all and possibly wheelin with you if you get near Yuma.

Hi. Name's Jason. Been a huge fan of '73-'91 GM trucks for as long as I can remember. I've been dropping them for a number of years, but have just recently been re-introduced to wheeling and I love it. So I signed up to learn a thing or two. I'm about as green as they get when it comes to this stuff.

I've got an '88 K20 Suburban with a 3" lift on 33's, but I'd really like to pick up a K5 pretty soon. The Sub's too nice a family hauler to beat up too badly.

I also have a dropped '77 C30 crew cab dually (6/8) and a stock '86 crew cab dually that will be dropped shortly.

Um..yeah, so that's it, I guess.

Got any pics of the 77? My dad has the exact same truck and I may be buying it from him next year. I'd like to lower it :D

Yeah, but apparently, I'm not allowed to post pics yet.

It's nothing special. Just your everyday, run of the mill work truck with a drop on it. Steel wheels and everything. Used to be a shoptruck, so it's still pretty rough.

New To This Site

Thanx guys ,new here trying to put my 80 ki5 back together,up here scross the border just south of vancouver:D
figured you all seem to have a good handle on these trucks and we can share a little info and a couple of laughs:bow:

My name is Steve, i'm from Pittsburgh and I've had my '86 Jimmy since my father bought it in '88. Most people, including my own family, don't understand why I love this truck so much. Sure it costs an arm and a leg to fill the 32 gallon tank, but I don't care. It gets me where I want to go and keeps people out of my way.

You can use an outside source to host pictures like photobucket.com

interesting. I tried to post pics but it said i have to wait till i post more? what ever.

Negatory. I tried that earlier.
Are you sure? I use Photobucket all the time to host pics here. Are you using the code that starts with "". If you use any other code they won't show up.

*Edit: Actually I see that you have just five posts right now, I think you have to have a certain amount of posts before pics will show up. I don't know the number but I think it's under 50...

Hello All!
My name is Keith and I am from Costa Mesa, CA (Orange County). I have a 1991 Suburban, 4x4, 3/4 ton. My Sub is lifted 2" and I am currently in the process of installing my freshly built 383. This is my 4th Suburban after a 1990, 1999, and 1991 - I love these trucks. Anyhow, I have done a lot of work on these trucks over the years and am happy to help where I can. I have already learned a ton reading through this forum, so Thank You!

New Suburban Finally!!

Hello all. I have wanted a Suburban since(sounds stupid) I saw the movie Dantes Peak. I finally got into a position to buy one and I did. I bought a 1990 3/4 ton Suburban. Its an old Air Force rig, pretty stripped down, but has only 90,000 miles on it. Its a 350 TBI motor, 400 trans, and I believe a 241 transfer case. Truck drives perfect, very tight truck, very well maintained. Anyway, I have 3 boys so this truck fits me perfectly and all the room I need. I want a 4-6" lift and 35's, roof rack, Winch, Heavy duty bumper, and some cool lights. Truck has no rust!!. I live in Alaska so having a large heavy safe truck is nice. Anyway, Nice site, I look forward to spending some time on here.

That doesn't sound stupid at all! I had wanted a '73-'75 Blazer ever since I saw the movie "Jaws" when I was in high school. I have since owned two of them. :D

hello, I am Trent from Deep South Texas. I recently got a 88 GMC Suburban 6.2L Diesel for dirt cheap. I am hoping to to it running a lot better than it is doing now.

Seems like a woman must of owned due to the lack of care it got :wink1:
Must be 20 years of dirt caked on the frame.

See you all around.
