I think the price is too high now, especially knowing it is not authentic.

That isn't my cup of tea, but it is a very beautiful truck. As for price, go check what a 502/502, NV4500, and a D60 go for.

PS. Also got a 84 C-30 with no cab lights.

Just curious... what does "Silverado" mean? Is it a trim level? And what's included? :ears:

All stock, it is "really" a 1 ton and no cab lights. They can be got that way. This was originally a fleet truck from Coca-cola.

Are those type of wheels characteristic of a 1 ton? I swear I think I saw a pickup just the other day, looked kinda junky, but it had those wheels. I'm trying to remember where I saw the thing, but I'm having a hard time..

Those are hub caps.

Yes Silverado is a trim level= a/c, power, tilt, the things this so called silverado does not have.

The 1 after the k in the vin indicates its a 1/2 ton. k2 3/4 ton, and k3 would be a 1 ton. That has been G.M.'s catalogue designation since 1973.

On Oct-28-05 at 05:12:22 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have double checked the vin, it IS correct, the body was originally a 1/2 ton, we have compared the frame to some other chevy's and it is a 3/4 ton frame, the diffs are 1 ton. Everything else is accurate, including original mileage. Truck is titled as 1 Ton, don't know how, but thats what it is.

well looks like he's starting to realize his mistake. is a sweet looking truck

Here's what he sent me when I asked.
Response from hossracing9350
Item: Chevrolet : C/K Pickup 3500 (4584441546)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
hossracing9350 is the seller.
yeah, i dont know what happened, vin is correct, we have done some checking and it looks like i have a 3/4 ton frame with 1 ton diffs, but body was originally 1/2 ton

I think it's a nice looking truck. Wouldn't be a problem here in SD. No lift laws, and no inspections.

Not nessarily!

I've got a Sierra Classic (basically, GMC's Silverado) and I don't have A/C :)

Yet, I've seen a Super Custom (basically, bottom line) that has AC? I don't really think the trim levels mean that much, you can order a super custom with all of the options that a Sierra Classic would have had, or vice versa, lol

Only real difference is that the Sierra Classic package came with more options standard, but it technically cheaper to customize a super custom in some cases, lol

The thing that gave it away that was a fact it WAS NOT a true 1 ton, besides the VIN itself (which is a no-brainer) was the frame.

If you look closely, you will see the rear shocks are all mounted OUTBOARD of the frame rails. A true 1 ton has them mounted INBOARD and opposite sides of what a 1/2 and 3/4 ton have.

Evidently, the seller admitted a mistake "after" he learned and did some checking around with it.

i exchanged several emails with him yesterday. i sent him links to 2 different sites to check the vin and asked him to compare the vin with the vin on the title. i told him that i wasn't trying to slam him and thought that the truck was really nice and put together well. he said that he would do some checking and he may have the wrong information. looks like he got it staightened out. :D

as long as the title and vin numbers match, even though it is not a true one ton, it passes the dmv as one :D

I sent him a note to offer my help and services to get him fully understood on the GM line of trucks, especially with the VIN and the frame setup, etc. I was not a dick to him and mentioned that, too. Just simply trying to help him get his truck advertised correctly so he could get the best possible deal he can get out of it.

I forgot to mention the rear u-bolts on his truck indicates a 3/4 ton since the u-bolts are a round bend with the threads pointing up rather than down like a true one ton. But some guys convert those to protect the threads, I know.
I still look at the rear shocks and u-bolts to confirm a true K30 from the 10 and 20. Those are about the only dead-set way to get the truck of your dreams.

I also told the seller to post up a public apology to sheshecroy for his remarks in order to get other bidders to notice his faults and admission of guilt.
Lets see what he does or says now.

Are you a Politician? You speak so professionally and unoffending at the same time!

:haha: :haha: :haha: Far from it. :haha:

No, nothing like the GOP. I just try to speak in a way a 4 year old would understand. :waytogo:

After being on this site for such a long time, I've found, and quite a few others (since this site is family-oriented), that its best to keep calm and not threaten anyone behind the monitor. Doing it in a way thats nice and calm goes a long ways in gaining anothers trust. :waytogo:

Another thing about those types that "talk tough" behind the monitors: its a waste of time to even try to get back at them. Whenever I read some bashing post, simply move on and ignore it. :waytogo:

This seller on eBay must be confused with what he's got. Its our job and duty to fully help him in order to understand as this site is about K-series trucks, bar none.
