I got the rear disc on but realized I need to grind the calipers to get them to fit........ no biggy just need to get my grinder from my moms to put the calipers but I wont be able to bleed the brakes till tuesday when my hoses come from ORD

I have left over red paint from the trans/tcase painting adventure when i pull the tires off to do the grinding on the calipers and putting the hoses on i might just paint the hubs red too........ what do yall think?

My phone sucks at taking pictures some times but all the past page has been from it too :dunno: but I can't wait for when i get back from basic im deff putting a winch up front and a twisted front winch mount.

grey paint on the bellhousing came out really good.... Im going to use this on the adapter housing and the bolt heads on the trans and tcase

well I got my flywheel and clutch in but i forgot my hardware from my dads house to finish bolting the belhousing on.

cleaned the trans and tcase with purple power for a good 1hr scraping and using a wire brush.

this is the color red I will use for the trans and t-case. its really more to spot leaks instead of just looking all pimp. Hopefully I will get out there to work on it some more. I need to get some supplies first to really have some other stuff to do, like trans mounts, steel, all fluids to change them out, waiting on my brake lines to get in, and 2-10 mm banjo bolts for the rear calipers, and still hunt down a rear driveshaft. I am thinkin of pulling the dizzy and priming the engine after i change the oil and use a ZDDP additive just to help out with my flat tappet factory cam.
 
ok I'm wondering about my shifter for the NP205 when I clock it. I'm prob just try and tweak the linkage. I'd love to put in a twin stick but I dont have the coin right now.
 
Well I got some more parts in. Still waiting on my driveshaft to get here. I am hopefully going to grind the calipers and finish the brakes tomorrow. I've got to get some steel for the trans xmember, hopefully doing that tomorrow morning. Need to go order trans mounts, and get all my fluids so I can change them all. I still need to paint the PTO covers and rewire my starter, along with fix my starter wiring, oh and figure out what to do for the stud for my air cleaner. I think I'm gonna cut another stud in half and weld them together and get the extra length I need to put the wing nut down on it. I need to keep my ass of thirdgen.com b/c I keep looking at cams and intake manifolds........... I would rather swap in a 5.3 LS engine b/c its more reliable, efficient, and easier to tune than a 350. Also would be cheaper to get more power out of a 5.3 than a 350 tbi engine.

Just go to the hardware store and get some all thread and cut it the length you need for the air cleaner.
 
So, I had bought a driveshaft from a remember and it was suppose to be delievered yesterday. FedEx says it was deliviered. What I'm pissed about the time it was my dad was home but we haven't seen a package yet. And it was said to be left on by the front door. I'm hoping it was just a mistake but if someone stole a 20lb 3ft long package with a driveshaft in it I'm going to be pretty pissed.
 
do you have any close neighbors it could have been left with?
check around the house, even in the bushes
did the package need to be signed for? Cause I've had a driver sign for mine while I wasn't home, called FedEx when I saw it delivered and no1 was at home. They made the driver come back, pick it up (2 boxes, each ~80lbs) and take it back to the station.

it's a pretty obvious package... i wrapped it in cardboard, then wrapped that in white shrinkwrap tape... let me know when it gets there.. :dunno:good thing i just read this.. i thru the receipt out last night, and just rummaged it out of the garbage... :doah:

I've tried calling FedEx but they arent open. I just was all excited to get it and its not here lol. Ill wait to complain on tuesday if its not here yet lol. But thanks again man and I hope its gets here safe and sound.
 
Well I go the driveshaft in, it was just at the wrong house. I was able to work on it some yesterday but it rained today hopefully will get out there to finish some odds and ends and then Ive got to weld up the cross member. My buddy whos a damn good welder just had back surgery so I'm have to booger it up to just get it together before I leave for basic.

I finally got all my bellhousing bolts (they were in a box that I had lost, and I forgot to put the fork/release bearing in when i took this pick so it all came back apart :doah:)

Damn it was heavy, I painted the PTO covers black and the adapter a crinkle silver..... but it just came out silver but it does look good and the different colors should show leaks pretty good if that ever happens.

Even with the trans all the way up in the tunnel reverse still catches the console...... I might just ditch the console. And I really am comtemplating going with a 1inch body lift and poly mounts to tuck things up a little higher and give me more clearance when clocking my Tcase.
 
Well, I'm in OUST and found out I'm going to Ft Irwin and just ordered zero rates for the front and a 2.5" lift. Plan is to get some 37 Iroks and I'm letting a friend finish up my truck at home. I plan on driving it to Cali, and I can't wait to try out some west coast 4wheeling. Hell now I can meet half of yall. I do plan swapping in a 5.3 with a cam after I get to my duty station, along with a shackle flip in the rear, twinstick my tcase, I would love to do the ballastic fab shave kit, lockers front and rear and then after a while swap in a D60 and do a 52/56 swap with a 1 inch body lift and throw some 42s on it. I miss my truck like crazy here. My mom printed off all the pictures and made a photo album for me which it was cool to show other privates what all I was doing before I went into the military.
 
Well plans have now changed ive developed stress fractures in my knees and so im at the FTU doing PT and PRT till i can RTD so duty station has now changed

Fun stuff. I actually feel really sorry for you. I had quite a few friends (and almost went there myself) go through PRT on Sand Hill. That place just sucks all together. I'm surprised you have your phone. We didn't get ours until a week before graduation. You're probably looking at 6months PRT before you can finish OSUT, by the time your done you might have knocked off a year off your contract. Oh and how was it drinking two and a half camel backs in under an hour for your bone scan? lol :P
 
Its not to bad. Im looking at 2 more weeks at the most since im in good shape and not a ****bag according to my DS. And now we have hydration drills which consist of chugging a camelback after every phase run

Well I'm on my weekend pass since I just finished basic and now on to the AIT portion of training. My duty station is still Ft. Irwin for the time being, but that subject to change if the Army needs it to. But right now I'm looking at LS engine harnesses/PCMs. Will be finding a junkyard 5.3 or 6.0 to swap in. I've ordered a shackle flip and 2 1/2" lift with 1" zero rate for the front. I need to find some 2 inch 8 lug wheel spacers and I'm about to order some 37 iroks, or Ill just do the humvee wheels/tires. I want to drive it to cali and honestly I'm gonna get really ****ty gas mileage with the 350, the LS engine would get much better gas mileage. There was a vendor on here that made a winch plate but hes now looking for a new shop and I really would like to get one when he opens up again and slap a winch on the front of it. I need to get my passanger side knuckle drilled and tapped for crossover, I think I'm going to call ORD and order theirs. I need to get a 2wd steering box b/c mine is all FUBAR'd and I need it for crossover. I found a company that makes a output mounted parking brake that I want to use the factory pedal to pull the cable. Also I want to pull the Tcase back off and clock it up another 18 degrees, add twinsticks and cable shifters. In order to do that I need a 1" body lift which I plan on ordering when kurt gets it all figured out on the bolt sizes. I want to go ahead and get poly engine/trans/body mounts too. I got alot of work ahead of me and there will be plenty of late nights and lots of beer used to finish this for the trek across the US.

Well I'm on leave till monday, and im still going to Ft. Irwin. I might just say screw the LS engine and find a big block and put a nice heads/cam on it and an aftermarket fuel injection. The K5 is really the onlything i spend money on so its now open to everything. I found a D60/14 bolt combo with 4.56 and 35 spine fronts with a spool for $1400. I might try and get that this week. And some 40 groundhawgs for $450 with wheels. Still havent gotten it running Ive got to fix the starter wiring and it should run if the injectors having frozen. I'm really liking the big block idea though.
