Yeah, I needed to get more options before today, but I didn't think that far....
Good thing that I don't have a hard deadline.

Well not a whole lot to show. I intentionally didn't do anything on this over the last few weeks because if the holidays. So today I had made plans to do a quick cleaning. I didn't get TOO obsessed with getting it perfect. I borrowed one if the HF pressure pot blasters.
It is now sitting in the main shop, (heated), while some of the primer and paint dries. I am not done with paint, but good enough for today.

How’d the pot blaster work out??
It works fair, I get obsessed with not having too much abrasive flow. It lets me go slower and not waste it while going slow. This leads me to having the valve cracked to where I sometimes have the abrasive stop until I crack the valve open, then turn it back down. I don't move fast enough to leave it open more...

Well, nothing spectacular as far as progress. We got the main shop cleared out, so no 190K new KW sitting inside...
I blasted and installed the F.U.S.H. , then welded up the egg shaped holes in the front spring hangers. Took some nasty exhaust hangers off, and ground off some other junk. Got the paint job done as far as the major part. Unfortunately, the high solids paint I had gotten from my supplier was not available in semi -gloss.
So it got gloss black....
It should dull some after use...

I left it sit in the warmth for tonight, and came up with a plan to hopefully brace the rear t-case crossmember. I saw @500$k5 bend his frame flange when he landed too hard on his skid plate/ crossmember. I believe that if I put a piece of plate from the end of the x-member to the vertical, or side of the frame, it should help hold the flange. So I made a template...

Decent progress on that since I saw it last Dave. Maybe some man-points are in order...

Here's a shot of it outside while it made the trip back to the hiding spot. It looks pretty good for rattle can! I intentionally didn't do anything with the Swiss cheese in the front frame horns until I get the bumper figured out.

Just so the cat is out of the bag...

The blue 72 is no more, he’s tearing it down for another project. He promised pictures

Maybe he’ll come by and defend his decision

I haven't done the final kill, so quit making it sound worse than it is at the moment .....
But , yeah, that's why I have posted pics of the '79 frame....

The engine needs to be torn apart to find a coolant leak that I smell in the exhaust.
