What is, time to quit being a cheap ass and buy a ez EFI.
It moved into the garage a week ago..
You forkin smart arse.
I had to boot the pink truck out and find a place to hide it.

I'll store that forker for you. Permanently.

I told you that I can't pay that much. I have a kid in college, and we don't qualify for government assistance... I tried calling him Juan, but no go..
Anyway,
I hope to have some results today to post up.

I will, my city dump is in Palisade, Colorado
So you're sending the whole Chevelle, right?
Otherwise, it's just another out-of-state hoser dumping stuff.
Lol!
My '72 C10 has an Edelbrock 750 on it. Sounds just about like a Q-jet when it's wide open. Somebody from Montrose taught me how to tune it.
:D

And since I failed at getting it running today, so that I could post results, I may as well let it out of the bag.
I bought and Edelbrock Proflo 4, even though @beags86 said he had a buddy who had hell with an older unit.

I decided to stick my neck/wallet out and try what I hope is an improvement over a 4 barrel TBI. I like the idea of a remote mounted ECM, but this did cause some extra work. I hope for better results from the sequential injection, and getting a complete intake and fuel package. This system also keeps the ECM controlling the ignition, which I felt was a requirement for me, since the factory stuff had it. No sense in going backwards.
It was very difficult for me to pull good condition TBI wiring out of a factory truck after I had re-loomed it when the body was off. Remember that my son had also made the adapter/spacer for it. No use now...
I didn't want to continue putting time and money into the slow , antiquated system, even though it is reliable. I didn't want to drop in a stock replacement TBI engine, (didn't have a good one anyway) and going LS would have cost more, and left me with a good engine sitting.
I found people posting up all over the place, upset with EVERY system. And satisfied people too.
So I made my choice , and here I go.

In hindsight, I probably could have gone with a Vortec big block , if I had made the decision last year when I found the cracked cylinder head. But that's a dead horse now.

Comparison of what was on it to the new stuff as far as height. And this let me work on the brackets for the factory throttle cable and the TV cable for the 700R4. I didn't believe that I could buy a piece that I would be happy with, so I saved the cash.
And a comparison of the 7747 and new ECM sizes.

Oh, and don't bother doggin' me about all of the Griot's stuff. Talk to my son, he really likes the results he gets from their stuff.

I honestly think that it would have been easier to install this system in a truck that didn't have EFI to begin with. I wanted to get rid of the wiring that I was not going to use again. But I need to keep the VSS speedo working and all of the normal stuff. So I ended up with this pile.

I did mount the ECM in the original tray, even if it's a little redneck. We flattened out the strap which holds the original ECM, trimmed some plastic, added rubber pads. Done, just need wire support.
Re-wired the fuel pump relay to work with this system, which triggers the pump with a ground signal, now it just grounds the relay coil.
