Well @500$k5 showed up today so we naturally took Jimmy to the mall.
Didn't even stop at a store cuz Sears was closed permanently.
So we turned west out of the mall, which is by 24 Rd.
Where should we go?
Pat and I wandered up 21Rd several years ago in his blazer on New year's day in too much snow, but we made it out anyway. We were just running the road that year, today we ended up in the wash.
The truck did very well, even though the fuel injection isn't perfect yet. It never does anything stupid, just isn't perfect yet.
The road was a little muddy, but once I got some mud on it, I had to go test it.
But I did hit the carwash before going home.
No one had been in this section this week, since it snowed.

@tenderfoot I was able to fit a 14" travel shock up front using ford shock towers and a 1" body lift. The right shock is very tight to the bottom of the evaporator box.

I can't believe I have to lecture you about wheeling by yourself! Especially a trail like 21Rd. :shame:

Yeah, I know, we both do..
But we barely got out of cell phone range THIS time. And I have another buddy who lives on 23 Rd who can come help easily.
I looked at it as we have special circumstances.

You should have seen our 1st trip!
:doah:
But we made it out easily.

And we had each other for company!

I just finished reading this entire thread. I'm feeling so proud of myself I've gotta comment on it.
Two things, I read the last 15 or 20 pages in one sitting and they were hilarious and an  is in order.
And is "Heinz 91" already taken for a name? '72, '79, '91 and I'm sure some other years in there.

An old fart, wearing 2 ankle braces, and no cell phone, and another almost old fart, with a bad knee, and no cell phone service, in December, with no food or water, up 21rd, alone. What could possibly go wrong. We didn't even have a 168 tooth, multi-faceted, digging tool, like the first time. LOL

A little update as to how the Edelbrock injection is doing. It has trimmed a fair amount of fuel out in the few miles that I have put on. I have still been trying to get rid of a low rpm stumble, just off of idle and when driving it in OD at engine speeds less than 1400. We ended up fixing driving problem but screwed up the off idle worse. But in the end got it back to what seems to be rock solid in the low rpm and just above idle range. I didn't go for another test drive to check OD cruising. Just smiled at how we learned and tuned on it with no tools. (Adjusted the throttle blades with a dime, when necessary)
We flipped the lid on the air cleaner because we were curious, and it is sounding close to a Q-jet now at WOT.
:D

It is also feeling pretty good for a 350 at this elevation and in a 5K lb truck.

You actually scale it? Curious what it hit

Did you ever check mileage?

And how was the cake?

No, didn't put it on the scales. Would have had to get out to see the readout and to avoid weighing ourselves too. I will run it across when it's only me to get out, and hopefully after the rear bumper is on and the little 8K winch is installed.
Mileage has not been checked at all. I can't remember which way the speedometer off at the moment. I need to get that set too.
Cake was pretty good too.
