Custom roll tool made. Sold some of my custom metal working tools to a friend when we traveled.

After. I still need to weld the cuts and do clean up. But that will come after the bumper is built.

Had to move closer to the heater as I was posting this. Now the wind is blowing. Wish I had a big enough garage to get the truck into.

How much weight do you think this will add on the front? Are you not worried about it nosing down anymore sense it's a half breed crawler?

Liking the progress.:thumb:

Too much weight. But I will compensate a little by moving the battery to the back and adding another back there.

Here is my (for Adams amusement) SOLIDnot quiteWORKS bumper design. At least it is kind of solid.

Does not fit well in the pictures due to tape, snow and wind. But you get the idea.

I designed it so I can bring a tube down from the engine cage to near the end of the bumper. Will give it some horizontal and vertical support.

It bolted right in. No pryinng or re-drilling or any of that crap. Haven't put the winch in it yet. But measured clearance is there.

Was that a CAD pun? I enjoyed

Looks good. You think it is a good idea to build bumpers in the cage? I have been considering the pros and cons and cant really decide.....

It will have a flange so the bumper could be removed. And where it will tie into the cage, is uber strong.

Yah, I figured a flange, I was just unsure if bumpers tied to cage was a good thing...

To me its bumper takes hit, jacks up frame from bumper to next strongest point (cage tie in) and then its just fix small frame portion...

Orrrr hit something, mess up frame and cage and anything the cage is tied to...... Unless you hit a small car, then you are just going to drive through it....

But continue, I like what you are doing.

Have you pulled the pitman arm off yet? Curious to see what is left of the splines.

Drive through a car, get a scar from a rock.

New arms (2) have been built. The bolt was so screwed up, I had to cut the arm into a number of pieces to remove it.

Yep. I figure each one is worth 1.23mph at top end. :D We will never know because it never goes that fast.

Actually, I had to put those in to warp the top plate to mach the frame on one end and the fender cut on the other. If you are standing in front of it and look for it, the warp is noticeable. I don't think the average yahoo will see it.
