Jimmy rebuild thread

Thanks. I am trying to keep it as prerunner looking with a little bit of beef to it.

Funny thing is, I got it all welded up, put it back on and it didn't even come close to fitting.???????? Took it back off and found a dingle berry on the mounting surface to the frame.:doah: need more anti splatter spray next time.

Did not get the passenger side done. Too many people stopped by or called.

This gives us and idea of what it will look like. Going to try and build a new lower valance and recess the LED light bar into it.

Bumper is mostly done. I'm not too thrilled with it. Don't like the way it looks like it slopes down at the ends. It doesn't, but it looks that way because of the cut on the fender.:doah:

The TNA cradle bolted in great. Used his frame brackets to build the bumper off of. The cradle is designed for a non Warn winch. Can not fit the Warn on the cradle holes and between the frame. Also not enough room between the cradle and the core support to stand a Warn up. My Smittybuilt would have bolted right in with the relays under the hood. So the cradle does work, just not with my warm.

I am spending the time to make the Warn HS9500i fit. The HS stands for High Speed. And once you use one, the others are so slow. And my truck is all about going fast:D

So the winch opening needs to be off set, wich means welding up some of the old opening and cutting new. Also the winch is laid back and will bolt to the front cradle plate. The bottom of that plate is plenty strong and I will run a piece across the front near the top to give more rigidity.

Had to roll the winch release forward also.

Do you remember how my winch opening and mounting looks?

I had the same issues with the mile marker.

I can't remember what I had for lunch. So no, I don't remember how yours was done.

It looks like you already got a plan in place, but here's how we (kellyjohn) did mine. The plate that I welded on came with the winch kit from army.

I like the foot forward mounting. I didn't think of that when relocating my mounting holes.

That works.

I was trying to save weight:haha:, so the patch and recut was how I went. Wanted it to kind of look like it was designed that way.

What is the cross piece between the tow loops for?
