Jimmy rebuild thread

What is the cross piece between the tow loops for?

It's a wing to keep the front end down at speed.?

I figured that mounting the winch to the front plate and not the bottom, a little extra bracing across the front plate couldn't hurt.

The dog started going nuts, so I new the brown truck was here.

:woot::woot:

2 aluminum battery boxes, 2 bulk head pass through terminals, 1 set of remote jump terminals.

Nice! That is one thing I have been thinking about adding onto mine is the jumper cables. and using it to wire up a winch if it is possible.

Looking forward to the install of those items.

Don't know why I did not post this picture. Light bar is mounted. Bottom of the blue tape is the top of the new splash pan. Will surround the light bar and keep the mounting bolts un accessible.

The light bar is mounted to the core support. Hopefully saving it if the bumper hits rocks.

Looking pretty cool.:waytogo: I've always been envious of this rig. Its very capable but still totally usable too.

Thanks. I should probably mention the cost to build this.

TNA winch cradle-$0 (won at BB13)
1/4 inch steel-$0 (work wanted it gone, 4'x4' sheet)
20 gauge galvanized valance-$0 (friend has an industrial sheet metal shop)
Miscellaneous nuts and bolts.-$10
4 LED turn and marker lights-$12 on clearance

Yep, I have $22 in this build. Then there's the light bar.

Finally drove the Jimmy at night. Went to get a candy bar just so I could drive it.

The original headlights are useless when the LED light bar is on.

I might have just missed it, but what length led bar is that? Looks great tucked in there

Bringing this back from the dead for an update. Broke the pitman arm and panhard bar bolt on the side of a hill in moab. Drove it back ignorant of the damage.

Fixed it. Did bolt and fluid check.

Added an upgraded air pump.
