JR's 91 K5 Modern meets Classic (NV4500 help needed)

Hey guys, a couple of you seen my 5.3 swap thread. Well I'm about to do a axle swap and upgrade along with a gear swap. Plus wheel tires and a lift so if figured what better way to keep track than to start a build.

Ill start posting pics tomorrow to get everything on one page.
I'll be looking forward to your guys advice and good ideas.

The speedo just can't handle the 5.3L lol ignore the temp gauge. It has the wrong sending unit

Started to gather all my suspension parts for a very very solid 4" lift that would really preform everywhere

BBC engine crossmember from ORD

Just driving on a nice day

My custom alcan front springs courtesy of ORD

Picked up this tailgate off a 74 c10 at the pick and pull for 10 bucks, gonna swap it on shortly

I sold the 5.3, this is a lq4 6.0 out of a 2006 2500

Well long story short, my frame was bent way to far to make it worth fixing so here is a new frame for the K5 on the way home

Just doing some cleaning

Here's my 08 that gets to drive all over the state bringing parts home for the K5
Kinda a weird truck option wise.

This is just the oil cooling adapter thing drilled and tapped for the old style sending unit, works like a charm

Well the plans for this truck has drastically changed due to a change in careers. But the first plan was to build a k5 expedition rig that would be a decent Dailey driver. I was just gonna run the 5.3L 4l60e np241 10 bolt front and a semi float rear. 4.56 gears and limited slips front and rear.

But the plan now is to consolidate two projects I have going on now, so now it's 79 bonanza meet 91 k5

I'm gonna run the 6.0L nv4500 np241, Dana 60 front 14bff rear with 4.56 and 35's.

I'm gonna swap the 79 front clip to the 91 k5 along with the 74 tailgate

Eventually I'm gonna build me a cage and figure out how to make my soft top mount to a cage in the rear.

Well today I finally got the new frame all cleaned up and removed all the old crappy suspension brackets that will be replaced with ord and diy4x parts.

Once I get the new 6.0 in the frame I'm afraid this project might slow down until I find a nv4500 and a Dana 60 front.

Hopefully I'll have this thing road worthy by Christmas tho

Yea I'm taking it all in strides, but unfortunately after I get the engine and frame all together this project might have to go on hold.

I'm finally switching careers and moving on to a less paying but a lot cooler job. So it's gonna be worth it.

Yea me too lol the only super expensive things I need are a nv4500 and a dana 60 front. So who knows, I might find a good deal lol

I like it.

Keep the 79 front end imo

I'm also looking for a 4500. Can't seem to find one local for less than 800-1000.
