Got the rear axle knocked out tonight.
Put the new diff cover on with some fresh bolts and got the whole disc brake assemblies put on with new calipers, rotors and pads. Shouldn't be long before these are going under the truck!

Glad to hear, I'm trying really hard to not make it look stupid. I've seen some trucks that every other part was a different color and it's just too much. I'm trying to just pick a few things here and there but overall it'll be black and the sheetmetal is staying white.

Thats probably why i like it so much now that you mention it.
Did a little machine work on the lower caps at the end of my lunch break. Counter-bored it down and drilled/tapped it 1/8" NPT for a grease zerk. Should keep them safe from the rocks. 
That is way cleaner then welding the washer on
Yeah I've seen guys weld a bushing on around the zerk but I'm not a fan of it. Figure it'll either break off or if it doesn't it's just one more thing to smash and drag on.
I'll get them degreased and painted up and hopefully get the front end going back together soon. We're going wheeling Friday-Sunday so work will have to wait until Monday.

A guy on Pirate sells new ones that are machined like that.
I told my boss we need to come up with a price and start doing these. I think a lot of guys might be interested in just unbolting theirs, shipping them and having it done then shipped back.
Doesn't take very long and then you never have to worry about it again.

Yeah I'm on Norcal all the time and yeah I'm planning on coming this year. Might be the maiden voyage for my truck if I can't pick up the pace and get it done before then.
I haven't had anything worth bringing. How come you guys never come wheel by us? We go all the time in the summer.
when i lived down there I had the same issue as you nothing to wheel. someday i wanna hit up the trails near you.
