Keeping your $$$ shocks safe..

Just tighten the bolts and drive through the northeast in winter for a week. The bolts will be rusted solid and take hours to remove. ;)

I don't drive the blazer in the winter. Otherwise that would probably work just fine lol
 
Left hand bolts.

Baitfish1 and Baitfish2 broke every socket, lug wrench, pull handle, and ratchet they had trying to get the lugs off a popup camper axle a few years back.

Hauled it to a machine shop, guy looked, saw the big "L" and spun them right off.
 
Just go to your local graveyard and dig up a corpse and then hang the skull from your side view mirror with a note saying this is what happened to the last person who tried to steal from me. :thumb:
 
Paint em black, simply answer. no one will notice them.

other than that I think simply welding the nuts to the bolts is the best way to do it other than the left hand bolts, I cannot imagine a thief would figure that one out very quickly
 
That would probably melt the rubber bushing on the shock mount.

There's no rubber bushings on bling shocks. They have spherical eyelets. Not that heat wouldn't **** with that too.

I think you're on the right track welding tube over the nut and bolt hole. What about torx or that newer spline drive?
 
Or you could use a longer than normal bolt, drill a hole through it just past the nut and insert a padlock. But then you'd need to protect the keyway from getting mud inside it.

These have rubber. But not your standard style. Very hard compound.
 
the other thing you gotta think about. is a lot of guys just carry battery powered sawzall. that was the first thing i thought of when i bout mine. maybe the theives arent as classy up in your area though. honestly, i'd just weld either tabs on, or just a few tacks on the head of the bolt as well as the nut on the bolt. nothing a cut off wheel on a grinder couldnt fix. but definitly more than some jaggoff would be prepared for.

Use a holesaw to drill a hole through the center of the shock and wrap a cable around the frame and then through the freshly drilled hole and padlock it...

jeez.... do I have to think of everything around here ? :whistle:

Didn't read the whole thread, but along with security nuts and bolts I'd make the heads recessed somehow so they can't get channel locks on there. I can get the fanciest crap off with channel locks if I can get to the head of the nut and bolt. Maybe a welded on protector ring, I've seen it done for zerks and bolt heads.

Yup im gonna weld a piece of tube over the nut that only the fancy socket will fit into. Think ill go with some of thos cone security nuts that need a soecial socket. Tabs on the bolt side so you cant get a wrench on it or cut it, but will hold it in place for wheb i spin the nut on and off.
 
Train horn wired to a proximity sensor in the wheelwells......

I'm all for being smart, and locking stuff, and keeping my junk safe...but, have you checked out your insurance policy recently? Might be smart to make sure additions like this are covered, and if they aren't, find a way to get them covered.

Not getting them stolen is a good plan, but at a point, i'd rather they steal them and not F up the rest of my truck, than theft proof them to the point it frustrates a thief into tearing up the rest of my truck.
