ATTENTION:
Do not assume that since you’ve been doing this wrench-turning thing for many decades that you will automatically NOT make any mistakes.
If you all will remember, I just got done installing this engine.
Meaning I just did this.
I’ll let the two pictures speak for themselves.
Pic 1. Is of what I found, now that I looked for it.

Picture 2. Is what is left after I made the repair.
Those are the spark plug wires for cylinders 2 and four

Doh!!!!

Well, that’s an easy fix! Don’t sweat it dude. That’s anybody’s thrash to get it together and squint just right at the first pic and it almost looks right the way they cross.

So now that you found it how’s it run now?

Starts right up, runs a bit rich now, I can smell it. No backfires!
I’ll bet it clears up a bit after it runs for a while.
I’m back to 12+ hours a day at work so…weekends!

Yeah a minor mistake with a 30 second fix is a mistake you can laugh about.

I think I would do the whole battery disconnect/reset thing after that one. Those two cylinders are 270 degrees apart in the firing order so hopefully no harm done as they would both be firing on the wrong cycle, and not 90 degrees early in the compression stroke which could be bad.

At least yours was that easy. Mine was running before winter and I started it every week for 15 minutes. It went from a split second to start to 5 seconds to 20 seconds to 30 seconds to a minute to 2 minutes to eventually not starting. So it's sad and during this summer I took the camshaft position sensor out and it snapped off in the block. Try getting it out couldn't got mad. My buddy just picked the truck up Sunday and today is Tuesday and he called me finally got to look at it. He got the sensor out and put the new one in and it still didn't run. He was asking me about the harness as he actually wanted to Vin so he could look up the wiring for you. I said to stand alone harness there's two relays on the firewall. Actually on the fender. And he started looking at them and he laughed I had a zip tie too tight and pulled one of the wires loosely off and was barely touching. He told me to get rid of these relays and put the screw on type and he'll tell me which ones to put on. But that was my whole issue..

After you fix it you can still laugh about it, right now probably not as funny.
