linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

They finally put a date on the wrecked Mercedes g wagon I want, 7 days. So now I need to come up with some extra money to not make the roommate mad.... although, I did just get her a $500 ring..
So whatever happend with the G63? Got pics? Curious to see what kind of condition it was in after getting rolled and catching fire.

She was bad, but I really just wanted the body, I bid up to $1000 but I’m guessing the short block is still worth a lot. It went for a little over 2. Every once in a while a front end wrecked one that still runs and drives goes for under 20k, maybe I’ll wait until we sell our rubicon and build a nice one.

The back end wasn’t terrible on this one, but still a lot of work obviously.

I could probably get you the internal parts

For the air locker? I was quoted $180 for a new center pin, 2 spider gears, and the spider gear shims. Seemed like a lot. I can buy a brand new Yukon zip locker for $550, but for now I’m just going to stop hanging things I think lol

For how long I worked on it I don’t feel like I got much done today. Put a trans cooler for the steering cooler, Will this be enough? The fluid was burnt but I was just using a stock Escalade steering cooler before.

Started on the rear battery mount and got the main cable ran back there. Can I ground the batter to the frame and then at the front the frame to the motor? No need to run a ground up to the motor right?

Still need to fix the rear driveshaft also. I’ve gone through 2 carrier bearings so going to put a pillow block in.

Hopefully do some snow wheeling tomorrow.

Wow, that thing is hammered! Even at wholesale, buying parts for those is pretty pricey. A $20K running and driving one is still probably going to cost a bunch to put back to decent condition. It would be a cool project though!

Yeah, let me know if you want me to look into it at all.

Ruined another rubber mounted carrier bearing last time out and wanted to just swap to a pillow block bearing, the driveshaft is 1.54
The bearing is 1.49. I wish I had a lathe. It’s kind of hard to grind it round.

Pulled it out to move some stuff around inside to put it on the hoist tomorrow. Decided to drive it around the block. It died. No power to anything. Spent 3 hours trying to get it back in the shop because I had rolled the window down. Snow drifts at the shop suck. I’m going to bed.

Don't you just hate it when something simple like doing a quick spin around the block turns into three hours of frustration. That's one of those "If I had just gone straight to what I was doing I wouldn't be experiencing three hours of suck right about now" kind of moments.

And I really was just gonna back it out and move the Jeep off the hoist... :doah:instant regret. Hahaha
